Try to relax Vonnie and enjoy good food and conversation with your friends. I am sure your friends will support you well. Every journey begins with a single step - one foot in front of the other and lots of deep breathes xx

My drink of choice these days is Lemon Lime and Soda. If I am home with friends I put it in a wine glass and I don’t feel out of place 🥂

Ooh might try that I haven't drank since Christmas and that was well before I started with PAF Just don't want to risk it while I'm out

I’ve had some pretty cool mocktails over the last couple of years. A slice of pineapple and a fancy umbrella can make a non-alcoholic drink taste better 🍹

That’s for sure. Alcohol is such an instrinsic part of our culture. Thankfully the tide seems to be turning with a lot of the younger generation here not drinking as much as previous generations because they are very health conscious. My kids (27 & 25) very rarely drink.

Think like you say it's becoming the norm more now I just don't want to risk it seeing its first time out again If anything triggers me off I rather be at home than somewhere full of strangers

I haven’t had any alcohol since Christmas which was a few months before my first inkling of afib... I was out recently and had a Virgin Mary ... it definitely hit the spot - think it was the Worcester sauce that made it feel alcoholic! Hope you enjoy your lunch! Im sure you will get caught up in the gossip and it will feel like you’ve never been away!

Hope so as I'm hoping to go back to work soon Need to build my confidence back up This isn't the way I'm use to feeling

I'd just tell them no thanks, I'm teatotal. It took a while for people to accept I didn't want/like to drink when I eventually stopped. Not that I drank much anyway, only a couple of pints on pub quiz night or a bottle of cider if I was at a friends/a night in (single bottle not 3 litres of white lightening ;) )

Oh mine was JD or vodka I never have drank when on tablets so it doesn't bother me not drinking Just might have calmed the nerves a bit
