For those on Nebivolol on here, can you tell me what dose you are on. ?

I am on 5mg for heart rate and also hypertension. Just wondering what the average dose is? (i had an ablation for Afib/flutter a month ago and so far so good)

Hi Mal :-) I take 2.5 once a day.

Hi, I take 2.5mg for the same reasons as you. I had an ablation about 18 months ago. Touch wood, so far so good.

I take 2.5mg daily, having changed from 1.25mg Bisoprolol over two months ago. It seems to suit me.

I was told at the arrhythmia clinic that I must not exceed my current dose of 2.5 because I am getting a low pulse rate in the 40's some of the time.

This isn't producing symptoms so I am not unduly worried as my blood pressure is down considerably and my heart rate is too during episodes of AF and as Dr Gupta says in his video 'It's only a number and it's how you feel that counts'' .

I guess we all have our different tolerance levels. I have considered asking to lower the dose but don't want to do anything that might increase my heart rate when in AF,

I was changed to it just over two weeks ago 2. 5 away from that dreadful bisoporlol...have noticed heart rate going low ..so have halved the tablet ..splits quite easily last two days and see better readings of rate already we all know what our bodies can take !

Hi Zezee :-) I considered doing that as my BP is falling anyway in line with my steady weight loss (which is part of my lifestyle changes ).

I am a bit reluctant to cut the dose just yet now that my P-AF has improved. Dr Gupta doesn't seem concerned about a low heart rate in his video. Clearly 'The blood is getting around' and I don't have any of the symptoms as mentioned ..

Hi thanks for replying..my heart rate was really low 28 Oneday when I was out I didn't feel great felt very weak ...had to sit for a while and when I came home took my oxygen and it also took pulse showing low ...so looks as 2.5 beta blocker was the cause ..since halving it ..it seems ok going up and I feel much better ...I think the less we take of beta blockers the better in my case anyway..thanks for video it was reassuring..was just symptoms that made me lower tablet...all the best...

I had a pacemaker implanted a couple of years ago for sick sinus syndrome. My natural heart rate is also in 40 ‘s but Pacemaker is set to 60

I also follow Dr Gupta. He is excellent

Hi Mal :-) that's interesting.

I am zooming about with a low HR at the moment and it is not so low all the time, it does get to 55. I am carefully monitoring myself for changes good and bad.

I hope you are finding Nebivolal a help to you.

Hi John, what do you take your medication for? I take bisoprolol for ectopics and SVT and does not make a difference. How is your new medication?

I take 1.25 most days. If I slip into af I up the dose to 2.5. I don’t like taking beta blockers as they really don’t agree with me. I therefore take the lowest dose I can. Haven’t discussed this with GP or cardio so please don’t follow my lead until you have.

I was started on 2.5 and monitored weekly. This was then raised to what is considered to be the optimal dose of 5mg once a day. I've been on this for about two years.

Like you I think I’ll stick with 5mg. My BP is a bit high but EP told me going to 10mg is a very high dose. My pacemaker stops HR going too low

So 5mg does seem best for me

I hope things improve for you. I was on propranaol for 13 years before they swopped me last year. They then said I shouldn't have been on them that long! Great!

I'm on 7.5mg a day - 5mg at 9am and 2.5mg at 5pm. Found it best to avoid it near bedtime

Night cramps. BP was possibly going a bit too low in my sleep. Taking the dose earlier mostly solved the problem
