Hi

Have a diagnosis of PAF from March last year was initially on bisoprolol which I couldn’t tolerate and was then started on sotolol which gave some relief but was changed to flecanide 50mgs BD and have been AF free now for 10 weeks saw EP privately on Monday and he has recommended Nebivolol 2.5mgs along with flecanide .Was wondering what was the best time to take Nebivolol as I was very sensitive to bisoprolol ? any suggestions greatly appreciated . Thanks Alison

Hi thanks for replying , after about 4 , 5mg tablets my heart rate was around 40 bpm and my bp was really low I could hardly get upstairs. So was contemplating taking Nebivolol at night

Thanks for that I was just a bit anxious after the bisoprolol could hardly function and felt back to normal a few days after stopping them and had read various things about taking beta blocker at night as I am working full time and don’t want to take any time off at the minute

Hi Alison - I'm on 2.5 mg of Bisoprolol twice a day for Artial Tachycardia. I am struggling to sleep properly on this. I've heard that Nebivolol doesn't suppress the production of melatonin as much as Bisoprolol. Was your sensitivity sleep related? I'm looking into changing to Nebivolol if it will work for me. The lack of sleep is terrible. Thanks Simon

Hi ,I was on 2.5 mgs of bisoprolol but after only a few days was struggling to get upstairs and my heart rate was in the 40s . I took the tablet in the morning. When I started on the nevbivol.l took it at nighttime but found that it really disturbed my sleep so switched to morning and so far have had only a few mild side effects, tingling in my fingertips and heart rate in 50s but nothing compared to bisoprolol. Hope this is of some use . I take magnesium citrate at night I have found that helps a bit with sleep.
