Query on blood test

White blood cell count down slightly, has anyone else had this?

Had a blood test on Tuesday morning, then had a call fromGP next day (!) to do repeatbin 2 weeks.Said not to lose any sleep over it! Apparently they like to see 4000 units per millilitre and I had 3,800.Also bit low on Vit D.Perhaps ,he said, as I am on 80 mg per day of Avorstatin.

As far as I know I have had no infections in the last few weeks, but did have a very bad infection in March, which was heading for sepsis, had 3 week of very strong antibiotics.

Not looking for medical opinion, but wondered if anyone else had experienced this?

Thanks in advance

yes, several times over the last few years. Could be you are fighting off something you didn't even know you were fighting.

Try not to worry too much

Hi. My white blood count has been low ( around 3.5 ) and within that the nuetrophil count is regularly low, arou.d 1.5 and has been around 1.1. On repeated blood tests it always comes back up again to a low normal, the GP is not overly concerned but keeps an eye on me. I have been on flecanide for 6 years and a possible side effect is depletion of leukocyte cells (as I understand all to do with white blood cells). That is my case but in an isolated blood test I would say it is probably a temporary dip and the repeat will probably show up as normal. X

I have had slightly low white blood cells on/off for a few years. Nothing drastic. My good GP does not seem worried .Maybe it is a variable for which there is no need to be alarmed .
