Well just had a 3 week stay in the Glenfield Heart Hospital. Finally had a pacemaker. It should have had 4 leads but they only managed 3.

I know have to Waite 6 weeks for an AV Node Ablation.

I read somewhere that you have to notify DVLA if you drive and your insurance company. And they’re normally not bothered.

Ok so just what do yo tell them .

You should not drive unless you have been given the ok. Glenfield should have advised you what any restrictions are and will be. If you go to DVLA website there is a list of medical conditions and restrictions which you can check out yourself. You may need to advise them on Form H1 and of course tell your insurance company as failure to do this may invalidate your cover. I doubt that once the prohibited period is over you should have any problems.

The DVLA website is comprehensive and informative so probably best to read through it. The insurance companies I’ve dealt with haven’t been interested unless the DVLA has put restrictions or special assistance moderations in place but I sure as heck have and would disclose everything in the first place as I have a healthy suspicion of them all.

For the sake of others I have just spent a few minutes checking DVLA site and if you have been fitted with a pacemaker you must NOT drive until your doctors have told you that you may. You MUST inform DVLA, on pain of £1000 fine if you do not. Any conditoon which requires DVLA advice MUST be notified to your insurance company.

Yes I looked into that. My surgeon told me 4 weeks. But I intend to Waite till I have had the complete procedure.

Also I know you have to advise DVLA or you can be find £1000 .Also to notify the insurance company

But you missed the point. What do you tell them.

I have a Pacemaker, because, or what
