My second. The first kept me drug and Afib free for nearly eight years. This time I had RF for flutter and cryo PVI to "touch up" the original RF PVI. I think only one of the veins was "noisy".

Were you a first timer?

I've got a rotten cold and am hoping it doesn't throw a spanner in the works! Otherwise, my main issue has been to avoid the temptation to do too much, too soon!

Hope all's well with you. I believe we share an EP?

E P Peter Stafford at Glenfield, I was back at work after 2 weeks after Ablation got no choice self employed gardener. good luck

Sounds as if you're doing OK.

Dr Stafford is also my EP. I'm back waking the dog and finding it hard to resist getting stuck into our overgrown pond. Maybe tomorrow......

hi ijan, I'm still on amiodarone till next visit to E P in couple of months, are you on any drugs still

Hi Higgy, I'm on rivaraxoban, 1.25mg bisoprolol, and ranitidine (instead of omneprazole which I'm allergic to). Plan is to stop the ranitidine 6 weeks post ablation and look at weaning off the bisoprolol around the same time. If all goes well I may come of the rivaraxoban a couple of months after that. We'll probably be in the Hebrides when all this happens; luckily I have a fantastic GP there who will monitor me closely and, if neccessary, liaise with Dr Stafford. Apart from the ranitidine, I was on the same drugs immediately prior to the ablation although I was drug free for many years after my first ablation.

Were you put on an antiacid after the ablation?

Will you be seeing Dr Stafford, or were you originally under Prof Ng? If you're concerned about your drug regime it might be worth emailing the EP's secretary to ask for advice.

Fortunately, when Dr Stafford popped in to see me post ablation I was compus mentus enough to let him know I hoped to be away when my follow up appointment would be due, so we made a plan at that time. I'll see him in the Autumn when we are back in England.

hi ijan, was put on lansoprasol but never took them as never get any acid, trying to come off tablets but they keep giving me more,

yes prof NG did my first Ablation thought he was doing second, but it was peter stafford, will try and email DR staffords secretary, for got to ask him with i can come off drugs early if all going ok,

Like you I don't normally suffer from acid, and assumed it was something to do with the cryo ablation as I dont remember having them after my first ablation.

Hope you get a speedy response to your question.

Having a slight setback with HB at 96 for the last few hours. Its come down a bit from 111 at the start of the episode. I've had a rotten cold with associated hacking cough plus I probably over did it trying to put away the lawn mower, a monster, left on the rain by OH, with out powering the motor! Hindsight is a wonderful thing. I've taken my bisoprolol early and am hoping its just a glitch during the healing process.

Cheers,

J
