I know i am still early in healing, i am two days post ablation everyonce in a while my chest hurts only for a second or two, i assume this is due to the procedure. Did anyone else have this feeling, its just like an achey feeling almost like my heart is trying to go into tachycardia but then the modification is like Ha think again!!

Slight soreness post ablation
Thank you, i expected the fast heart rate wasnt sure about the achey heart
It is normal to feel all kinds of new sensations post ablation. It is probably your heart settling down after the bashing it has taken but if you are worried phone your ablation nurse or your EP's secretary for advice.
Most importantly don't push yourself to do too much. You need to rest as much as you can to give everything a chance to recover.
Hope all goes well.
As your heart has been burned numerous times on the walls of your atrium it is unsurprising that it aches during the days following your ablation.
Don’t worry I should all abate within a week or two.
Pete
What kind of an ablation? I had the 4 vein pulmonary isolation by cryo balloon, no pain at all after a few hours.
a week ago I had RF ablation for flutter on the other atria. I can still feel some pain now, although it has reduced a lot the last day or so.
However none of the pain was very bad. , 1 out of 10, really.I think I noticed it more when I took a big breath, but of course these things play on your mind so I am not positive about this ( ie was I doing something that caused the larger breath and the breath was not the root cause?)
Hi
Yes I had chest pain for the 1st three weeks - it seems to have lifted now - so hang in there - i know how u are feeling - i feel pretty anxious with all sorts of symptoms not on my discharge description but have comfort when I post on this forum knowing its sounds common.
Hope as time passes you feel better.
I felt chest discomfort for a few days after my ablation. Particularly if I tried to take a deep breath, I would feel tightness and a “burning” sensation. My EP said it was not uncommon, and it did subside in a few days. Hang in there!
Hi.
After my first ablation, I had pain for about 3 weeks. Felt like someone was sitting on my chest, and couldn’t get comfortable either lying down or sitting up. It was horrible really, and caused me anxiety that I struggled with for months afterwards. Takes around 4-6 months for the heart to heal completely though so from what I understand it is normal to experience slight discomfort, missed beats, raised heart rate.
On the flip side, I am now coming up to 3 weeks post ablation for the second time and have had absolutely no pain at all! Although my heart feels like it’s jumping all over the place, I have felt no discomfort at all really.
So I have 2 completely different experiences of the same procedure!
when i had my ablation nearly 2 years ago i had to go to the hospital on a plane and the next day after the ablation i was on a plane home .I had a few unusual events for the first 3 months but fingers crossed i have been AF free and on no meds
