I am 11-days in to my recovery from my second ablation procedure and wanted to check if anyone else has/had the symptoms I am suffering from; as I didn't have them after the first ablation procedure.
I have two key ones as follows;
1. After walking for a few minutes and then standing still, I feel mildly dizzy. I am i sinus rhythm, my BP is good and I am not on any new medications.
2. If I walk upstairs (especially if I have been sitting down beforehand), when I get to the top I am more short of breath than I would be usually and my heart feels like it's thumping in my chest, despite my pulse still being in the 60's (i.e. not significantly beating any faster than I would expect it to). It takes a minute or two for me to breathe normally again and stop feeling the thumping in my chest.
It would be great to know if any of you guys/girls experienced the same and if so how long it lasted.
Many thanks in advance for any responses.
Kind regards,
Trev

Hi Trev, it's only very early days so you must expect such things. I would not have been unduly worried at 11 days post ablation and certainly had a few oddities. ( I've had 4 ablations).
Thanks Jalia for the advice, and I guess my concern is a little heightened as I didn't experience these after the first ablation. Then again, it could be because I am a born worrier
I had your No. 2 experience for a couple weeks after all three of my ablations. I learned to first pause a few seconds after getting out of a chair before doing stairs. You're in the very early stages of healing and these symptoms are normal. Keep it light and easy!
Thanks Snowgirl, I really appreciate this. You never know whether something is wrong or if it's part of the normal healing process so it's great when someone like your goodself confirms that it was normal for them as well. I take on board your advice and will pause for a while before ascending the stairs.
Three ablations!!! You are braver than me and I hope that is the last one for you and it has been fully successful.
Thanks Trev -- one more thing. I made the mistake of lifting something too heavy, too soon. I'm an avid gardener so the temptation to get back to normal business was too great! As a result, I felt a heaviness in my chest a couple days after, like an elephant was sitting on my chest. But you won't do that, will you!
Thanks for the heads-up on the elephant Snowgirl --- and I have no intention to be lifting anything anytime soon.
I have just been reading through a couple of your previous posts and the responses. It is clear that recovery and expectations are not communicated very well to patients that undergo ablation, and the recovery is so different for everyone.
Anyway, thanks again Snowgirl for your messages; they have made me relax a bit about my recovery symptoms and have acted as a warning to me about zoo animals
I just re-read my reply to you and realised that it may have come across as a bit flippant. That was not my intent and I apologise if your read it that way.
I take you point very seriously and thank you for you responses that have helped to ease my mind on my current symptoms.
Trev -- Your response didn't come across as flippant in the least bit; if anything, very lighthearted and appreciative. Your kindness is reflected in the fact that you even thought you offended -- which of course you didn't. Best wishes in your healing and quick recovery back to normal.
