cardiac ablation complications
Bad neck pain from two cardioversions during the procedure but as you say only one shoulder I would get it checked out.
It is not uncommon to have some chest pain which may extend into your back but only for a few days if that. I suggest if it is recent then it may be more likely due to the position you may have been in during the procedure. I had really bad siatica for a few hours after my last one but this went once I was able to move about.
If this is allied to any breathing problems then do seek medical advice.
Shoulder pain after a procedure or surgery is often due to movement or manipulation of the diaphragm. The phrenic nerve runs through there and does not like to be disturbed, and it travels through the shoulder. It is classic to only have one sided pain. If it is really bothering you, definitely go get it checked out.
Yes - went after a few days
Definitely get it checked out as it seems to be centered around one shoulder. Could be nothing or could be a blood clot. My primary symptom for a blood clot was shoulder pain. When in doubt, get it checked out
After my second ablation I developed a frozen shoulder on the left side, I did attribute this to the cardioversion (2 shocks) I had to restore sinus following the procedure. This is purely what I think happened but not suggested by my GP. It has only recently cleared up a year and a half later.
