How soon after cardiac ablation under GA can you go back to the gym to do weight lifting and cardio?

Thanks Maggie

Recovery from the procedure varies from one individual to another, but most normal daily activities can be resumed as soon as you feel able. It is best to avoid heavy lifting and strenuous exercise, such as going to the gym, for at least two weeks to allow your groin to heal properly.

I agree the groin area healing I am so worried about it not healing right. So wait 2 weeks for lifting what about sexual activity with the area to heal?

How about post ablation flying? How long should you wait with the pressure? Will that have any damage?

Thank you!

It is generally advisable to avoid flying for at least a week after an ablation. With regards sexual activities, we would advise that you discuss with your consultant to ensure that the area is well healed

Thank you. And thank you for the fast reply!

I've just contacted my Arrythmia nurse who has advised no gym for 6 weeks post ablation in contrast to ward staff who said two weeks. Hoping I've done no damage for the two episodes at the gym. Thank you for all your replies, Maggie.
