Does anyone else take any vitamin supplements with Rivaroxaban? At the moment I take cod liver oil, evening primrose oil, glucosamine and magnesium with b complex. I have looked on the internet but there are conflicting views!

Rivaroxaban and supplements
I take a one-a-day multivitamin formulated to improve skin, hair and nails and it contains all sorts including evening primrose oil and things like folic acid. Quite a lot of B1 and B6. It was suggested to me by a pharmacist some years ago. It was given the OK by the nurse when I was on warfarin. I also have a magnesium spray.
I take a multivitamin, cold liver oil and garlic oil capsules. Doesnt seem to cause a problem. Pharmacist said there isnt a problem either.
The problem arises if the supplement also has a 'blood thinning' effect. It is a pity that one can't take less rivaroxiban when taking supplements, but there is no research to cover this, and not likely to be any. For example, fish oils are supposed to be good for the heart, but do decrease the speed of clotting. I use the minimum of fish oil, but am aware that it is at 'my own risk'. I would not do so if I saw any sign of bleeding eg unexplained bruises.
Vitamin A and garlic are also supposed to have this effect (There is vitamin A in cod liver oil) It is also in some multivitamins, but usually in very small quantities.
