I can thoroughly recommend anyone with a heart arrhythmia to buy the AliveCor heart monitor , you can get it from Amazon for about $99 US. It works on android and apple phones see their website for more details alivecor.com

This device allows you to take a heart trace whenever you like and you can send the traces to your cardiologist if your concerned, it saves a lot of time waiting for a Holter Monitor and gives you a good idea of how your heart is behaving

They changed the name to Kardia a few years ago - just to avoid any confusion! You can now also get a band for the latest version of the Apple Watch.

I had one of the earliest versions - case fitted iPhone 4 - but still use it as it can be used on other phones, even thought the case doesn’t fit - by holding it very close to the microphone inlet on iPads etc.

Agree fairgo - a very useful tool in helping diagnosis.

My doctor instructed me to take a PIP when my heart rate went above a certain number. But when I'm in AF my pulse is unreadable - so I never knew when that happened. Now I just use the Kardia and I know immediatelly whether I should be taking the drugs or not.

yes its a brilliant device ive even persuaded my cardiologist to purchase some for his patients to use to identify A/Fib as it took me a year to catch a trace of it at ER hospitals and no i dont have shares in the company

I couldn’t agree more. I used this device to detect my AF and was able to go straight to an EP and bypass my PCP. It provides great information and within 2 months of my detection of AF, I had an ablation procedure. Post ablation, it has helped me determine what my AF triggers are and monitor my progress. The another key resource is “Beat you A-Fib” by Steve Ryan and his website at a-fib.com.

Anyone interested in the Kardia may want to read the A-Fib.com review of the Alivecor Kardia written by Travis Von Slooten, publisher of Livingwithatrialfibrillation.com. Go to: a-fib.com/2016-update-alive...

Thank you for mentioning our book, “Beat you A-Fib” by Steve Ryan and our website at A-Fib.com.
