Mine starts at 4 and is ramped up to 14. The sleep clinic should set the recommended pressure for you.

Mine has only ever been on 6.5 been back to the clinic a few times not very helpful to be honest, I just feel so tired all the time.

Give them a ring, it may need increasing and they'll be able to tell you how to do it over the phone.

Mine's fixed on a constant 8 (or maybe 9?) I've asked for it to be reduced to see if I can manage on lower, but I've been told several times that this is very low and they wouldn't take it below this.

However high (or low) yours is set at, if you're still tired all the time it would def be best to ring the clinic and get their advice.

Really hope they're helpful this time. Let us know :) x

Mine has been on 6.5 since I have had it, which is about two years. It was adjusted last time I went to clinic and I was told that it would give me more air if I needed it as the machine was automatic, so I don't know how that works.

Oh that does ring a bell... I vaguely remember that I started on variable pressure (which goes up as needed, then back to the base rate when not). I didn't get on with that at all - I found I didn't sleep deeply with the pressure change.

At a regular review they switched me to a fixed, continuous pressure and that's been heaps better. Maybe it's something like that with you? I do hope there's a simple solution for you. Sleep deprivation is SO hideous :( x

I am going to ask them to put it back where it was. I have really tried and I am at the point where its really effecting every area of my life.

5-20 with ramp. But I can’t change my settings on the hospital one, only the physiologist can do that upon looking at the read outs.

I recently bought a small portable machine which I love as it works more like a BiPap and is completely automatic ramping so I just set the range and so far the readings show the machine rarely goes above 12 and I find that much more comfortable. It also gives me a good readout of sleep quality.

How long have you been using it? Apart from 1 or 2 days I found it was a slow and gradual improvement over many months which made the difference.

I also use a sleep app monitor which gives me good reports on the quality and duration of my sleep which I find very helpful as sometimes I think I have slept right through but the app shows me I have had very restless and broken sleep and it records snoring noises.

Thank you really good information would you mind sending me a message with the details of the machine you bought and the sleep app monitor. I have been using the CPAP for about two years and it did help in the beginning but over the last year it not helping at all I have tried a few different masks but still feeling so very tired GP has given me a check for bloods all ok
