I would just like to ask anyone here what NHS cpap machine they use and is it an automatic I have had the same machine for five year and just wondered if they are ever up dated.

Cpap machine
Me - similar - had mine since 2014 and never updated as they still use the old S9 but you know even though the water reservoir, tubing, masks and filters have all been replaced regularly, the machine itself is great. I bought a AirSense mini for traveling and emergencies which is an automatic but I seem to be more comfortable with the old NHS model. The Airsense doesn’t do anything more speculative - it’s just a little more automatic and it releases the pressure on the out breath but do some strange reason I always awake after using it with a lot of wind - I must have swallowed a lot of air.
I now don’t even have the annual check - just ring when I need something and they post out to me.
Thank you for the info makes sense. My cpap clinician is not very helpful I have had to beg for a new mask I live in wales.
Oh dear, not helpful. I find a mask lasts about 6-8 months before it needs replacing - an early sign is air leakage at the sides - soon as that happens I am on the phone. I am now on my 4th water reservoir as normally it is the plastic bands on the side which just break off - they normally just send the inner workings.
ResMed have 2 clinics in the UK so you can always ring and ask them their advice and use that information as leverage?
Best wishes CD
