2-30am wake up call as usual

Every night I wake up after two hours sleep, my legs hurt, I’ve got pressure in my chest and my pulse is around 52/54 beats

It makes me frightened to sleep in case it goes lower and on top if that I’m supposed to pick up a prescription to help take the pressure off my heart and lower my heartbeat for a scan at the hospital, I’ll be stopped by then !

I sorry if I sound like a panicked idiot but I am scared to close my eyes!

That's a nice low resting rate. What medication are you on? What is your normal activity rate? My normal resting rate is in the mid fifties usually around 54 to 55 sometimes 57 and causes me no problems. As this is causing you to wakefulness and anxiety I would speak to your cardiologist or EP about it.

What do would ease your mind about what is a good resting HR? You have posted before about your concerns of low heart rate.

I agree with Desanthony - your resting HR during sleep sounds good so what is the thought behind it’s not OK for it to be that ‘low’?

What do you think it should be?

It does sound to me as though it is your anxiety which is of most concern and keeping you awake and that’s really not good as we need good quality sleep for healthy heart.

Hello , you are most probably right about the anxiety and I recognise that issue but it doesn’t help when you get a prescription from the doctor and a day later get a call ……Don’t take that ! There’s another prescription at the chemist you need to take this instead ( I don’t know what it is yet other than it will slow my heart for a scan ..

My resting heart rate during the night is usually 48 or thereabouts. It is around 55 during the day. Because of everything I’ve learned/read on this forum I’m not worried at all. Best wishes to you.

Hello , from information on here and yourself I’m not worried about my heart rate at the mo just freaked that they want to lower it even more , I’ll be at a standstill 😊 when I asked the doctor about the latest prescription on it’s way he just said well it’s up to you which wasn’t very helpful

Heart rate sounds ok mine is about 56 sometimes...sometimes more...it’s not as if we’re leaping around eh! And it does vary up and down doesn’t it....lAs for achey legs I get them sometimes I think they call it restless legs?.?

I get up and take a parecetamol, we have 1000 mg ones in France, and that solves it so I can sleep....There’s nothing worse than lying awake fretting

Morning , thanks , good idea …..I think half of it was me being a panicky nut case 😂😂😂

You are not a panicky nutcase. Most people here have been in a situation and didn't know which way to turn. It's bad enough having this problem and not getting good help from the Drs sure doesn't help. And when one has anxiety anyway as I do, that tends to make things worse. But get on your Dr and make him explain what he's prescribing and why. What he told you is not acceptable. 😡I find Drs are so nonchalant about treating us nowadays. Of course here in the USA they have the insurance companies on their backs. But even so they could still treat the patient better than they do. Just stick to this forum. You will get the best help and advice and support. Better than the Drs. 😁 Take care and be safe. Hope you get things sorted out.

I probably could use a new mattress. But with the prices going up and up now it's not in my budget. So I bought a memory form mattress topper. Just that was a big help and I'm sleeping better. I have two cats and they seem to like the new mattress topper also. 😺😺

Hello 😊 thank you so much for your reply, I’ve had two really good days and nights since I posted and received so much reassurance from everyone. We have all had the most peculiar two years with Covid and isolating etc I don’t think we realise how much it has played with our heads and hearts I’m the one that everyone turns to and all of a sudden I lost my mum power and couldn’t tell my kids I was frightened, mums don’t get frightened do they x

But thanks to you and everyone on here I’m back and have it together again ❤️And the daft thing is the tablets that I was in a mad panic over , if the doctor had said their name I would have been. ‘Oh fine , I’ve taken those before, no problem’ and not run for the hills 😊

Thank you again x
