Today my heart felt a bit erratic so l tried twice to take a Kardia recording and each time It started off with gigantic thick black up and down zigzag lines and then became even more unreadable. I don’t think l was sitting next to anything electrical.
Unfortunately l panicked and didn’t save the short recording.
I tried two different sitting positions in the room and on the third time it behaved normally.
Has anyone else had this ever happen as it really frightened me.
Thanks for any replies

If you look at the “Arrhythmia Library” section in the “Heart Education” file, you will see illustrations of all the different kinds of arrhythmia that Kardia detects. Unless your zigzag line corresponsed to one of these, you can probably infer that it’s interference or suchlike rather than a heart arrhythmia.
You just go into the Kardia app: tap on the three horizontal bars at the top left hand side of the screen; select Heart education, then select Arrhythmia library. You will then see a longish list of arrhythmias which you can look at individually.
I get a message on mine "electrical interference detected" if it's picking up a lot of extraneous electrical signals. My Kardia is quite new and older ones may not come up with that. I have to go somewhere away from my PC/wifi/Sky etc. The reading is always wild for the first couple of seconds, then it settles down. It's very important to keep a steady pressure on the pads otherwise the reading can leap around a lot. It's best done sitting down.
