thanks to all for your replies. eliquis, in my case is not for heart, but rather for dvt's (deep vein thrombosis) which is a result of my extended cancer treatments. about 21/2 yrs. plus radiation. at any rate have been cancer free for 6 yrs. so am most greatful. just talking to all of you makes such a difference in such a short time. many thanks for all your kindness.

Hi rhea, I'm sorry to hear you've had such a tough time with health over the years.
Hope you can enjoy relaxing with some wine etc - I was told as long as I didn't really binge drink, it's perfectly safe to drink alcohol on the NOACs like Eliquis. (Not doing so is only because of the effect of alcohol on heart rhythm for many with AF, nothing to do with the anticoagulant.)
