Hi. I've been having cold symptoms these past few days and my pharmacist said it was safe to take the over the counter Coricidin HBP cold & flu tablets. I'm curious to know if anyone has ever tried them and what their results were. And if anyone have AF triggered by taking them? Im opened to any suggestions of how to safely treat this cold without triggering or increasing heart palpitations and AF symptoms. I've been difussing essential oils such as peppermint to clear congestion, lavender oil to help stop sneezing and to sleep and lemon oil to get the vitamin C.

Fighting a bad cold.
Don't know th brand but most are no nos for us people. Most have phenalphrine or similar drug which will raise your heart rate as well as caffeine which is a bad thing. Best keep to good old paracetamol. I posted "Stupid Boy" after taking Sudafed and coffee yesterday,
This would be enough to make me avoid it like the plague:

Safer to stick to paracetamol and plenty of hot drinks.
Do y'all have any suggestions on what kind of cough drops is sfe to use?
I take Soothers honey and lemon sweets as they do not contain Menthol. I am taking Bisoprolol, Dronedarone, Warfarin and Aspirin. I will only take Paracetamol for a cold. Recently found Rowes Honey and Lemon sachets which also contain Vitamin C.
Can't beat good old-fashioned recipe for Lemon 60ml (fresh squeezed) and glycerin 60no (BP), and runny honey 60no. Shake up together in jar and use as needed, teaspoonful at a time. Especially good to ease coughing during the night. And in hot water to sip in daytime. All safe ingredients! Belated Happy New Year to Everyone!

Old saying is -> a cold will last for 7 - 14 days if you treat it and one to two weeks if you don't!!. My mantra as well apart from paracetamol and fluids ++
I'm from the USA. I've never heard of paracetamol that everyone is posting about. Is this a prescription needed basis only or can it be purchased over the counter ?
You will know it as Tylenol in USA
Thanks Nannie. So is it safe to take Tylenol cold/flu medicines?
I'm in the U.S. and take Tylenol ifI get a headache or sore throat with a cold. Unfortunately we aren't permitted to take cold remedies so for congestion I rely on a diffuser with eucalyptus oil and always have tea , herbal of course with lemon and honey. Hope you feel better real soon, Gracey
