Calf muscles

Just had a quick look at your first post and you're taking digoxin, bisoprolol and apixaban, is that right? Can't shed any light on the muscle twitching but I'm guessing you haven't had a response as some folk may not know what you're taking. Very jealous you got straight onto apixaban though!!
I don't know if it is the meds that cause this, wouldn't be surprised, but know all about muscle twitches, especially at night. Usually indicates a depletion of electrolytes in the muscle cell - calcium is required for muscle to contract and magnesium to relax so could be the meds or the condition means your muscle cell electrolyte balance is out. Some people take Magnesium supplements, which are known to help, but I can't so here are my top tips for elimination of muscle twitches:-
1. Hot pad on affected area.
2. Weekly warm bath in bath salts - sea salt suits me as even Epsom salts are too strong, I have a condition for which magnesium is contra indicated.
3. Ensure your electrolytes are up so things like coconut water, bananas, mineral salts etc will help.
4. This is from US site where THE thing for muscle twitches and cramps is
a) mustard and
b) 'pickle juice' - now I haven't the foggiest how that works but have seen people rave about it on other health forums - just google it to see! I assume it is the vinegar that helps.
Good luck and let us know how you get on if you try any of above for relief.
