Hello, has anyone got any good remedies for night time painful leg cramps. Been awake most of the night in pain and tried drinking hydration fluid, heat pad, magnesium tablet. Still feeling really tight and threatening to go into another spasm. Any advice appreciated. I take Ramipril, Rivaoxiban and Bisoprolol. Thank you!

I used to get terrible night-time leg cramps but now only when dehydrated since adding T3 to my thyroid hormone T4 . I also still use magnesium spray before bed .

Magnesium spray or ointment. From time to time I have had this night time problem, also when driving long distances and it helps greatly. I alwasy keep a pack in my overnight bag.

Yay, a cramp free night, although a very sore and painful calf muscle as a result of the terrible cramp the night before ! So, this is what I did....1 banana, 2 x magnesium tablets, 1 oral hydration tablet, lots of water, Vitamin b12, D and folic acid...now that stopped it in it's tracks. To be honest I was frightened to go to sleep last night as the calf muscle was threatening all day! I also stretched in bed with my toes pointing upwards. Thanks for all your advice, I pretty much tried them all apart from the Epsom Salts bath, as did not have these to hand, x

I was on Amytrpitaline for a while - just 10mg was enough to help me drift off and not wake in the night with knee pain/cramps when I wasn't on any major painkillers due to the AF.

I’m told that drinking tonic water (yuk!) can help. Might need to lay off the gin though🤣

I have a banana every day. When I stop for a few days I get cramp again.

Bananas and mag.oil all good. You could also try a prebed bath with Epsom salts in the water. They are another source of Mag.
