I have been experiencing weakness in legs and arms.. I am on Bisoprolol Fumerate 5mg.. I have been on this for years.. I WAS taking Lovastatin as well, but went off of that because it was doing something to my muscles too. I also take 84mg of aspirin.. Has anyone else experienced muscle weakness with Bisoprolol? I am type 2 diabetic as well and my A1c has been 8.2 . fasting has been 160.. I don't think that is what is causing it and I don't want my doctor to not look at anything else and contribute this to that..

Both statins and Bisoprolol deplete your body's store of CoQ10. With your doctor's permission, I suggest you try taking this supplement, starting with a low amount, for at least three months, preferably longer. A good multi-vitamin-and-mineral from a health food shop may also help. CoQ10 is essential in the body, especially in the muscles, and lack of it can lead to muscle weakness. It should help your sugar levels, your energy and your heart as well.
Also you may find 'Diabetes without Drugs' by Suzy Cohen of interest, but don't make any major changes without your doctor's agreement.
Sorry to say this, but you sound like the typical NHS patient who is being slowly
poisoned with super numery drugs, whilst his GP pulls in the financial benefits from
Big Pharma. Do you not read the newspapers ? Try yesterdays Daily Mail, page 39.
You will hopefully find it interesting !
I read it.. Crazy.. but I am afraid to just stop taking the blood pressure medicine.. It is a beta blocker.. I fell last night at work as I slipped on some water whilst I was dust mopping the halls at an elementary school and I just could not stop myself from falling as my legs were too weak.. I went down on my back and my knee bent out to the side.. I will try to ween myself off of it and see what happens.. I go to see my doctor in a couple of months.. This medicine raises your triglycerides as well and your blood sugar..
5mg bisoprolol is very high, it's a wonder you can stand up on that, awful for you.
Ask your doctor to prescribe 1.25 mg bisoprolol and get your life back in order. Then cut
the tabs in half and take half at 8.00 a.m. and half at 8.00 p.m. each day. You can buy a pill cutter for £2 from your local chemist shop. Be careful, look after yourself, good luck and
be happy !
Your bp is excellent. Heart rate on the low side tho. 65 to 75 hr would be better.
However there is little point in having an excellent bp if you keep falling over.
Bisoprolol is not a friendly drug and can and does make a mess of your life.
It's your body, your heart, be kind to them and yourself.
I don’t know why I was ever put on it. My bp was 140/90 before but that would be after drinking coffee and driving in traffic. I think she wants to change this, but doesn’t know what else to put me on. Just like diabetic medicine. I have tried several and have had issues and just want to manage it with diet, but I have other issues that finding the right diet is difficult. They have me on 84mg if aspirin as well.
