Hi nick....3rd day post ablation.....I feel your pain!! Groin area really sore and bruised but glad it's over with....what advice was you given regarding recovery and returning to work? I can't remember much of what was said, something about not driving for 3 days?? Hope you are resting up with the tv remote as your best friend. Lorraine.

My groin was really painful and bruised for about 2 weeks but other people had no trouble at all. I had muscle spasms in the muscle at the top of the thigh. I also had a couple of weeks of migraine aura ( also connected to ablation ) but nothing else and after 2 weeks all was well. Hope you both continue to improve x

like u into my 3rd day post ablation groin area feels ok now, re recovery advice much like yours met EP following day no driving for two days no lifting review in o/patients 3 months only on bisoprolol 2.5mg bd oh and warfarin. what they did not tell me that I going to have hour+ long slow AF throughout day still very early days.

no regrets going through with it worst part was the 8 days following the phone call from the cardiac dept just kept reminding myself how it felt going through some of the more extreme attacks over the years oh and my doc prescribed a few valium tabs. anyway going out for a wander with the dog now......take care....nick

You shouldn't be taking the dog for a walk during the first two weeks. I asked that question. If the dog is on a lead for part of the time and pulls at all that is even worse because all of the muscles tighten on the right side including down the leg (when holding in right hand).

Be careful! I was told no driving for a week and a week off work....but they don't really know. Be warned, it could take up to two weeks before you feel like doing a great deal, and longer to really get back to your dynamics self!

Nick

Sorry to hear this. If you have pain in groin you may have a small haematoma (a hard lump). You may have been advised not to drive for a MINIMUM period of anywhere from 48 hours to 7 days. However unless you can do a full blown emergency stop you should not drive. Also it may not be wise to drive until you find out what is wrong with the groin since driving may exacerbate the situation / problems.

pain in groin (extreme) ok now over did the walking when leaving the hospital, just now in a slow AF pulse about 80ish well for the last 4 hours guess this might be normal in some cases.....nick

Doing nothing for the first week also includes not much walking. Particularly when leaving the hospital it should be minimal walking.

Hope things improve quickly.

Nick I am impressed you are taking the dog for a wander.....I have just tried to sit downstairs with the family and gave up....pain in groin is less whilst laid flat......I have also had the odd flutter today....I don't make a good patient and find it so frustrating but everybody is different and it's a small price to pay to get this stupid condition sorted......looking forward to what day 4 brings!!!
