Thanks for the replies I received after I posted on here while lying on my back after my ablation! Your words of encouragement help so much.
Just after I was discharged yesterday I went in to an 8 hour bout of AF! I had been told to expect this for the next few months but still felt a bit down. When my heart went back into sinus rhythm I was still getting hard palpitations. This didn't bother me quite as much. Chest discomfort not nice but bearable. Today it already feels better. If I walk about or do anything for too long it starts again. Feeling quite tired even after minimal exertion. The other thing I noticed was soreness in my diaphragm area just like I had done a hundred sit ups. I assure you I haven't!!! Wondered if this was connected to the pacing for the phrenic nerve that the EP said they had to do before freezing? Anyway, it's only a minor complaint. Groin wound seems good. Not too much bruising although sorer today.
I think that's all for now. Thank you for reading my ramblings and being here when I need a friendly word of advice or reassurance.

I only have minimal chest discomfort and it's not there all the time. I just take paracetemol and that seems to help. Groin wound is giving me no bother today. (Day 4).
The other side effect I have had is the aura some people have before a migraine. I had it the day after the ablation and yesterday. Zig zagging flashing lights. I have never had it before. Luckily I had seen posts on here from people saying they also experienced the same thing after ablation otherwise I would have panicked! Only lasts about 20 minutes at a time. I think Bob D (who is such a great source of information, really helpful) said they think it's connected to the transeptal puncture although no one really knows why.
I had a lot of different arrhythmias and thumps and bumps going on in the night. It actually woke me up. Heart calmer again this morning. I know this is normal but am struggling a bit as before the ablation I had a spell of 3 months without any AF episodes so to go back to this feels like taking a backward step. Common sense tells me it's not but the cowardly side of me doesn't like it!
All sounds good to me, don't try to run before you can walk though. After my recent catheter ablation (just over 5 weeks) it was a good 3 weeks before my energy levels started to improve and yesterday I pruned the roses and swept the leaves without having to stop and rest. So give yourself time, I think we can be a little impatient sometimes. Thanks for keeping us in touch with your progress, knowledge is power!
I'm 6 weeks post my ablation and I had 2 days of stomach discomfort , felt like really bad ingestion to the point of being doubled up in pain , then it just disappeared ! But I went back into AF , heart rate up to 150 and my doc told me to get down to A &E to be checked out . I stayed there for 2 days being monitored . They upped my bisoprolol to 7.5 from 5 and put me on Flecainide. I feel a lot better being stabilised but I'm still floating in and out of AF . It's like my heart is really trying to stay on track , not much I can do about it tho , just go with the flow , we're all different
Thanks for your replies Brenda and maxdog. I'm now on day 6. Heart calmer than it was and stomach better too. I was encouraged by the fact that your energy levels took a while to recover Brenda. I actually feel more tired now than I did for the first day or two. Could be that I am doing a bit more than I was. Also feeling a bit down and teary at times though not sure why. Patience is the answer I'm sure!
