Metallic taste

I've been on Flecainide now for around 8 years with only one episode of AF. Recently after a check up with my EP he added a 1.25 mg of Bisolprolol and I have noticed since then that I have a metallic taste in my mouth. Has anyone else ever had this side affect?

Hi and welcome to our forum. I take Flecainide as a pill in the pocket and have never had that metallic taste. I am wondering why your EP has added Bisoprolol to your medication if you have only had one attack of AF in 8 years.

I had cardio version 8 years ago to stop persistent AF then put on Flec 100 mg twice a day which has worked very well. My new EP says it should be taken along with a small bête blocker? He knows best I suppose.

I take half a beta blocker (metoprolol) too when I take my Flecainide as a pill in the pocket.

My husband has a metallic taste when he has an excess of stomach acid. He takes imperative and that sorts it out. X

Didn't have metallic taste when on bisoprolol. Just jealous that you have access to an EP after being AF free for so long. I was discharged after three months.

Access comes at a price as I had to pay for a private consultation, my GP just wanted to put me on a list to see a Cardiologist so I found the EP myself who has a good reputation and he was great.

It is a side effect of one of them, I remember being asked if I had that but as I didn't i didn't absorb which drug caused it, sorry.
