I understand. Not exactly West Country. Maybe you could start one in your area. We get together about three times year for a chat and general moan and some good food over lunch. Beancounter has a Nosh and Natter in London from time to time as well. Ian time for another of yours?

Yes of course if you fancy trying to start something just invite some proposals for a lunch or dinner meet in your area. That is how I started three years ago. If you were thinking of starting a full on support group then AFA have a support group section who can assist but that usually needs a medical lead and is far more regimented that a social gathering which is what you make it.

We chose a mid week lunch date so that people didn't have to drive home late in the evening and also most of us are retired and week days are usually quieter .

Good luck and ask if you need any more .

Hi Brckie,

The AF association do have a support group in Wolverhampton. If you put this link in your browser atrialfibrillation.org.uk/p... and go to the bottom of the page, you'll find contact details.

HI Bob, I dont have AF but do have arrhythmia, can I join you? I live in Bristol.

Of course you can it is only a social event and all are welcome. We have people who come from Nailsee and as far as deepest Cornwall which is why I pitched it in the centre of the area. I'm in Barnstaple actually but the food is good at Diggers Rest and it is fairly central for the West Country. Let me know which date suits you best.

Hello Bob,

Hope to make it this time. I should have had part one of a hybrid ablation by then and hope I'll have something positive to report. Either date would suit me. Thank you for all your efforts.

Oh how I wish I could join you, I grew up in Budleigh Salterton and used to ride on Woodbury Common. I leave the West Country to return to the Isle of Wight on the 22nd, bad timing. Maybe next year.

The AF news is that I have an appointment with an EP in Southampton on the 30th of July.

Questions I should ask please, I have PAF and am on low dosage Bisoprolol (1.5 mg) Warfarin and Statins. I asked for the apt when I was getting more frequent episodes but, touch wood, haven't had an episode for several weeks, still get heart 'jumps' and know its there all the time.

Any advice welcome. Thanks in advance.

Sorry you couldn't join us. Maybe another time. October.march and July usually. My advice would be to ask about ablation then you could stop the bisoprolol with luck. It may be that he doesn't think yours is bad enough but some EPs tonk early ablation is the way forward.

Hi Bob. We can do either date, but the 23rd is best. We're looking forward to seeing you all.

We come from Nailsea, MammaCass. Have you ever been to the Diggers? We may already have met, unless I've got you mixed up with someone else.

Hi Jan, yes we went in March. So we'll meet you at the end of July. Mike is Nailsea born and we came to Weston after the kids left home. We lived on Ash Hayes and Trendlewood, where are you? Nailsea is not that big, so we must have friends in common. So looking forward to meeting you.

We couldn't make it in March, so we're looking forward to a summer meet-up...... We live opposite Noggin's fish shop. I'm sure you know that place! see you soon.

Well Jan, about 18 years ago we had quite a few conversations about Dyslexia, and you are part of the reason our son who is 28 now, did so well at university x

jan-ran profile image

Oh we have a lot to talk about! I will now go through my records (tho' they may not go back 18 years) and see if I can identify your son. but I would need to know his name and yours - not from this site of course. Can you find my email on HealthUnlockrd?

Bob - Ann & I have put both in our diaries. Wednesday is always a problem, so if we could vary the day of the week occasionally in the future it would be helpful.

Hi Bob, I hope to be able to come this time but it will depend on Mikes hospital appts. At the moment either date seems fine.

Mike is waiting for a TURP so we are waiting for date.

Jackie

OK Lets say 30th as there is a chance more may come that date. I think we could be as many as 14! I will check with The Diggers that they can manage that. Just so the newbies understand, we don't mess about arguing who has what we just split the bill including the bar.

Hi Bob

We have just had a letter from BRI with an appt for Mike's CT scan for 30th so won't be able to make it.

One day we will hopefully meet with you guys!

OK That leaves us with ten I think with a possible extra couple so I will book for ten today. Sorry you couldn't make it. --next one will probably be November as we tend to do it three times a year.
