Well done Christo, good to hear you're getting things done. Don't know what they are going to recommend but do let us know how you get on.

Thank you for your post My Dr rang me last night 7:30 telling me to take my meds up to 5mg, blood not right yet 1.3 I had been taking 3mg have a feeling it will be 7mg or more before long. Blood test on Tue. Not so worried as before as I'm learning as I go along. This board is great always someone to talk to and they understand I'm pleased I found you all Thanks.

So your INR is now up to 1.3, so on the way up, good. Mine took a long time to settle. It doesn't matter what the dose of Warfarin is Christo (I'm on 7.5 and sometimes 9mg), it's what you INR is that matters. Some people get there with a small dose, some need more. It can take time for your INR to settle down. Mine took quite a few weeks if I remember.

Cheers

Koll.

Am I at risk until until I get to the right INR ? I'm not worried how many tablets I take, I were just telling anyone who reads whats going on, I'm now aware its the INR thats matters. Learning fast as I did not know anything about AF and its problems.

Thank you for posting.

Take care.

Christo

Just follow their instruction Christo, your INR will go up. The Warfarin is just to reduce the chances of a stroke. We all have to go through the build up, so just stick with it, shouldn't be too long now. I don't know about the risks except that your risk will not be much different to a "normal" person when you get there. I'm only a patient, but I think that's about right.
