prostate cancer lung metastasis

Hello! Always thinking of each of you and hope you are well. My dad’s advanced prostate cancer is now prostate cancer lung metastasis because it has moved to his lungs. He will undergo chemo in 2 weeks. Just wondering if there is anyone else with this diagnosis or knows someone that has this same diagnosis? What is this prognosis?

The chemo often works well against lung metastases. I know a patient who's lung mets were gone after the chemo.

when I started treatment 3 years ago I had several mets to the lungs as well as nodes and bones. After a year on lupron they were gone. My psa was 5664 at start but never got below 1. I do still have my prostate intact. After 16 monthhs I added Abiraterone and prednisone and just switched from prednisone to dexamethasone. No chemo or radiation yet. Hope this helps, God bless.

I had lung mets biopsied 12/22. Started on triplet therapy and still on ADT. All lung lesions have disappeared from the PSMA /Choline scans. PSA remains undetectable for 2 years now.

I had lung metastasis due to a melanoma on my neck. It was treated with the immunotherapy drug KEYTRUDA (Pembrolizumab) . It worked (Sloan Kettering c.c. in NY city) seven/eight years ago without any side effects or effects like chemo.. Do yourself a favor and ask the doc about Keytruda before he starts with the chemo. If he says NO then ask him why not?

Good Luck, Good Health and Good Humor.

Newly discovered prostate ca metastasis to lung - only place it lit up on PSMA PET scan. Lung biopsy confirmed. Psa is just 0.36. Prostatectomy 2008 and nadir 0.001 for -8 yrs then very very slow creep to the 0.36 now. We have not been given a prognosis but a very aggressive treatment that we start 4/21/25. I am spouse - hub is active @71 but not excited to have to ‘workout’, which seems like a requirement. He will start with Firmagon, and either Abiraterone or Nubeqa + 6 sessions doxetaxel + carboplatin. It feels like the edge of a cliff.
