I took many supplements from the beginning of diagnosis. I finally narrowed things down to zyflamend for prostate. The trouble is I don’t know if there was a reaction or not. Im twelve years out on lupron and Xtandi. I take an anti depressant called desimpramine which I read slows prostate cancer. Lately I’ve been reading about hops they use for beer. You vcan google this stuff. Just put ‘hops and cancer’ , there are studies.,” mostly on mice and rats. Anyway the zyflamend was studied at the university of Washington. As tall Allen has indicated there’s not enough proof.

Hi Kevin,
I’m so glad you posted this about Zyflamend. I didn’t know anything about it so I researched it . I think sounds wonderful. It contains whole-food antioxidants including ginger turmeric green tea rosemary saw palmetto and pumpkin seeds. It just might quench the free radicals in your system please keep us posted 💜
There is Level 1 evidence that anti-oxidants/free radical quenchers can cause prostate cancer. But at the doses you taake, it probably has no effect, and if it helps you feel better psychologically, and you can afford expensive pee, why not?
I was not familiar with Desimpramine so I checked with the perplexity AI and accordining to its answer, it might possibly help with PC3 but is this what you have? I ask because there is nothing in your bio right now. PC3 does not express PSA. Have you been told that your cancer mutated into neuroendocrine cancer?
AI answer below:
Desipramine, an antidepressant, appears to have a complex impact on prostate cancer cells based on the available research:
1) Cytotoxic effects: Desipramine has been shown to induce cytotoxicity in human PC3 prostate cancer cells. This effect is associated with an increase in cytosolic Ca2+ levels ([Ca2+]i) in these cells
2) Apoptosis induction: Studies have demonstrated that desipramine can trigger apoptosis (programmed cell death) in PC3 prostate cancer cells. This apoptotic process involves the activation of JNK kinase and caspase-3 pathways.
3) Calcium signaling: Desipramine affects intracellular Ca2+ movement in prostate cancer cells, which may play a role in its cytotoxic effects.
4) Population-based studies: A nationwide population-based nested case-control study found no association between mechanistically dissimilar antidepressants (which may include desipramine) and increased hazard for prostate cancer.

I guess it needs more study. Most of the things I’ve done were alongside allopathic treatment. I’m stage 4. I had three bone Mets. Since I was at NIH they run lots of tests. My psa was 31 at time of diagnosis. Lupron and casodex ( temporary) stopped working after 2.5 years. Then it was lupron and Xtandi. NIH had 2 arms Xtandi alone and Xtandi and prostvac. Prostvac was a fowl pox vaccine. The prostvac proved to be a failure. Since they had something to do with inventing the molecule before they sold it to Astro Zeneca, they let me stay until the study closed . They didn’t care about these other supplements. So I took them when I could afford them. Desimpramine I took the whole time. I was told 6 years tops. I’m 12 years out now which is great. Diagnosed at 59 I’m 72 , I retired at 62 to reduce stress. Every now and then I’ll hear about something like motherwort , I’ll take that until it runs out and it had a calming effect so i thought well that was interesting, Then 4mu , took that till it ran out , hmmm didn’t feel anything. Then I read about aspirin, which I don’t recommend, but did that for like a year. Had lower GI symptoms so I stopped. I was thinking to reduce inflammation. I don’t know if it did anything. I then ordered nascopine , a cough medicine from Europe Seems to calm me down , eventually ran out , hmmm that was interesting then allspice, and on and on… pomegranate juice. Sometimes I took 8 supplements a day , felt like a medicine head , all alongside Xtandi and lupron. After a while I just take zyflamend but all this time it was a waste of money. Now no supplements, fatty liver trying to give it a rest. That’s pretty much it. I felt if I’m going to croak , might as well hassle those cancer cells. I don’t know if I inconvenienced them or not . CBC cannabis juice , why not, but I’m not recommending people make a laboratory of their body. I just felt I was going to die soon anyway, might as well go down swinging. I met I guy a physicist. He had an EE degree too. His psa kept going up. I said , sell that business , if you can. He had something to do with satellites , relax , smell the coffee , take these supplements , retire. A year later I tried calling him , phone disconnected, off to the happy hunting ground. I cried, what can you do, I thought that they’d find a cure by now , shit, better not get to know anyone here at NIH.
