sure - as I said - it's a bucket list item. I have been fortunate enough to see some of the big ones: pyramids, Mont St Michelle ( all 400 + steps - there is a cemetery 1/2 way up ... hmm), Snowdonia, Grand Canyon, Rockies, Mystic Fjords ... India and a circumnavigation cruise and ??? are still on the list
great stuff buddy, great example of fighting and a celebrity to boot. Pretty kewl โฆ. Glad you are on the group representing and showing what can be done. You continue to achieve/ amaze.
Mahalo nui loa Bruddah Kal, such a weird confluence of events resulted in the PCRI thingie: guess my participating in ZERO events over the years got me on a radar for the Inaugural LA Fashion Show with the AAPI focus, that led to several Zoom interviews for the show๐
I'm grateful to be able to make that ripple and maybe get a man screened and spare him what we are going thru.
Yea, proud to represent the "Band of Brothers and Sistas" and put my story out there. Still believe that I'm just a pawn on a 4D Chessboard. Were you able to watch the vid?
I watched 5-6 ( forget ) of the videos , torture videos that is Rotflol. Man, that coastal drive never gets old does it. Sure wish I was there, probably gonna try for a few days at the tides pretty soon , but it seems kinda weird to miss the best weather of the year here, for the everyday weather over there. June is a good month for the mid coast, everything is bloomed out. Love that star anise bloom fragrance plus all the star jasmine .
Things continue to improve here โฆ it was a long way down, gonna be just as far getting back, or harder even. Nice 70f mornings help a lot โฆโฆ 71.6 f on my back deck at 10:30 a.m. . Lol Chillax-ing in the jacuzzi .
Rotflol โฆโฆ itโs torture seeing all that beautiful coastal highway and Iโm not over there. My most favorite real estate . You are right buddy, a coastal trip would be a big morale builder. I can see those giant crab claws in that bowl of cioppino already Rotflol.
Not again. Your gettin more than your 15 minutes lol.
Really enjoyed it. A large part of it is my mind going "that's Doc Randy".
The last time I heard you talk was in a video when you were visiting your mom and I was struck by your vibe. You'd fit right in with my wife and I, my family.
Its all good but as funny as media ho is rotflol we gotta come up with something more apropos to you, being your the guy who's guy who's the source of the ripples lol.
All of us gettin together. Yeah a pipe dream of mine for some time now for sure. Even just you gettin together with the hammer and Kal vicariously satisfied about 50% of my pipe dream ha, ha, lol. Yeah kinda like when you have a dream so realistic that when you awake it seems like it really happened, a real memory. Whoa. I guess I'll keep that previous sentence in here anyway lol.
Keep up the good stuff brother. And thanks as always.
Oh almost forgot. Don't you dare come to the twin cities without letting me know lol. I gotta let you know that just in case ha.
Those are all funny! None quite get the definition of your ripple spreading though except us here get it lol. Somehow gotta get you and the ripples in a name. Its a tough one.
Maybe its because I'm in a mixed race marriage with a son who went thru some "stuff" from time to time growing up but those were hilarious: yellow peril, touched by a chino lol.
A west coast trip. Always enjoyed trips there, think often of it and possibly getting to hook up including of course the hammer and brother kal too. My wife has been behind it for awhile so there is that little extra that might push it over the edge but we cant make any firm dates yet. We're still trying to get back to our old Chicago stomping grounds for a visit these 4 years in twin cities. Only a 6-7 hour drive. I guess I've just been a little unpredictable lol. I am however quite stable in my unstable condition if that makes sense, these days lol.
The dream poster you posted reminded me of a writing I found at my moms after she passed away from cancer. I saved it. Even though I didnt have cancer at the time it made sense even for someone getting older.
Age does not limit the goals that are set or hinder the convictions of heart.
Time does not halt values that are kept or place a limit on when you can start.
I've written you a book rotflol.
Cheers brother. Thanks for you kind thoughts, compassion and PM me anytime.

That Youngbloods Get Together was always a favorite of mine. Still good!
She was in a few of the pix in the beginning of the PCRI Vid. She did the last 10k with me on my 150th marathon at the OC Marathon. We've done 1/2 marathons together too. I did this as a goodbye from her job to pursue a degree in Family Counseling
Oh, yeah you have a Hapa kiddo, it means half in Hawaiian and use to mean 1/2 Hawaiian, but now means 1/2 Asian or Polynesian.
My five Hapa kiddos in the pic, except for the lady next to me, Wendy's married to Kev #2 son with lil Olivia who was born months after the #stageivpca Dx.
That's me in the corner with the chemo head, just finished the 15th chemo a couple of weeks earlier
My daughter Zoe was in Chicago for Law School at U of C. What a great city, of course I did the Chicago Marathon. Goose Island will give you a free beer if you bring your bib in
Randy Ripples. Yes but again doesnt fully define it however for all us brothers and sisters in this tribe that might be good enough lol.
Those are some great pictures and videos you replied with. Your daughter is special. Truly. And maybe ironically or small worldish my son completed law school too but at the U of Iowa.
Man when you were in Chicago you hit all the places lol. If we had met up when I lived there I don't think I could have shown you a better time. Do you want that Italian Beef splashed or dunked? lol.
I think I told you before I would have really loved to have lived in Hawaii for at least some of my life at the least. So much a melting pot, mixing of cultures creating the best of everything. When I told you about my son being mixed I wondered if you'd come back with a Hawaiian word similar to the Japanese word. Sure enough kinda lol. In Japan its hafu (HAfoo).
I would like Vanessa. She seems a great supporter and human being.
So many great family pictures you shared here. The Christmas one with all the kids and you in the corner looks a bit like our Christmas's these past several years. We still use the tiny cheapo tree we bought when we first came back to the states and our son was little. Its very nostalgic. We love it and he and the grand kids do too.
In a jiffy just pickin a couple pics. Son and grandkids.
Love our daughter in law too but I just quickly snagged these pics to post lol.
Grand kids are older than the on the couch pic. All the pics are in our place our son snagged for us in the height of covid 4 years ago.
I'm JiJi (casual way of saying grandfather)
My wife is BaBa. It all works for me lol.
(I looked up BaBa to make sure I had the spelling and saw some definitions that were in error. So here's where we get JiJi and BaBa from:
Some Japanese children call their grandparents by the nicknames Jiji (from ojiisan) and Baba (from obaasan). Unlike grandparents in many other Asian cultures, the Japanese do not have different names for maternal and paternal grandparents
Had done several trips to Chicago, the 1st in March 2015 with Zoe for a Tour of U of C Law. Hadn't told them about PCa yet, was waiting for better results. We stopped at Lake Michigan just to look and got hit by the insane wind/cold. After her tour we went to the Navy Pier and then to maybe Bubba Gumps for beers and crab
My grandparents came from Southern China, maybe Guangdong. Supposedly G pa got a mail order bride sent out to Hawaii๐
A huge melting pot or a stew of Cultures in Hawaii. Pidgin English was a way that was developed to communicate, now we use words from the different peoples.
And the mix brought about the Plate Lunch: two scoops of rice, Mac salad and some protein: Chicken katsu, Kalua Pork, Kalbi beef, Char siu, Pork cutlet, Roast Pork, or adobo
In Chinese Popo is grandma and Gung gung is G pa. Funny how those grandparents nicknames are two repeated syllables, maybe cuz easy for kids to say. Hmmm
Mahalo nui loa Sista, so many reasons to keep fightin. Zoe has mostly recovered from the emergency C-section, Benjamin, taken out on 02/18, is growing well for a premie, still in NICU. A huge concern about brain damage from lack of blood flow and oxygen - have to see how much damage as he gets older ๐
Good luck to your little fighter! I hope he grows into happy and healthy man. He has such a wonderful family to help and support. Thank you for updating. My husband and me are going for few days to see our kids in Edmonton. Daughter and her husband got new home, our son is there too, he is first year university and staying with his sister for now. Gonna celebrate our March men there. My husband is turning 55, son 19 and son in law 27.
Busy day today and I know I cant write much now but just wanted you to know I'll be back later lol.
Our son is about 20 minutes away. Going over to visit and then drive over to see his first in his life house purchase. He doesnt get the key until April 2nd but going to go see it. An invite from our daughter in law to have dinner too.
Life in the cancer fast lane. Not feelin so good today but going to go anyway. Feeling better as the hours have gone by this morning though.
Beautiful sunny day here despite the temperature in the 30's. That's helpin me out.
I'm sure that y'all had a Blast, post pix if ya have any
Sunshine is excellent medicine and an Anti-depressant, tho 30's is not for me. We had snow earlier this week, but today it got to 63 - so I was able to get a long hike in. Got rain coming tho, I want Spring๐
