wow man … heavy stuff my brother. Really kewl thoughts. You are the very definition of “ a man with song in his heart “ , if there ever was one yayahahahaya. Somehow it all seems to fit perfectly here with our band of croaking brothers ( my imho of course ). Love it all ..
Oh definitely a YES, been saying that to pts more and more, there are no coincidences. And I have so many praying for me, even the Norbertine Nuns in the Monastery up here💙
We do hikes, and it's therapy for both of us. Last night she asked if she could feel my heart, I said sure, she just wanted to make sure that it was a strong heartbeat💙
Mahalo my Brother, and LoL, yea you're right, what started as a lil tale of a Song, the Artist, and then the Big Reveal with his passing from dreaded PCa has grown wonderfully into a nostalgic tribute to the Awesome Storyteller Dan Fogelberg💙
Thanks for the memories Randy...... remember him well during my years at U of Ill.......
After graduating from Woodruff High School in 1969, Fogelberg studied theater arts and painting at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He began performing as a solo acoustic player at a local coffeehouse, "The Red Herring", which is where he made his first solo recordings as part of a folk festival in 1971.[5] He was discovered by Irving Azoff, who started his music management career promoting another Champaign-Urbana act, REO Speedwagon.
Oh, you're so Welcome and ya know My Pleasure just putting a lil story from the encounter and I love how it resonated here on HU and transformed into a very lovely distraction
I bought Coco a keyboard for her birthday it came with a software teaching app which she embraced to the max. Her enthusiasm has motivated me to get my dusty old keyboard out and brush up on my skills. My plan is for us to make beautiful music together.
I am a Dan Fogelberg fan, and I vividly remember when he announced his APCa status. I remember reading his open letter urging men to get their prostate checked at 50 - earlier if there was a family history. I am still able to find that letter. He wrote: "I promise you, you DON'T want to go through what I'm going through if you can avoid it..."
Those words have haunted me, but I was only 37 at the time. Little did I suspect that, 12 years later, I would be going through the same thing. I just turned 49 and was still a year away from "recommended" testing.
I will get more years than Dan. He died at the age I am now (56) less than 3 years in. I am going on 7+.
Hard to Say...😟
To paraphrase Dan:
Lucky at (life), well maybe so
There's still a lot of things you'll never know
Like why each time the sky begins to snow, you cry
Chew on this one—— Everything starts somewhere, though many physicists disagree. But people have always been dimly aware of the problem with the start of things. They wonder how the snowplough driver gets to work, or how the makers of dictionaries look up the spelling of words. (Terry Pratchett, story called Hogfather)
I believe you didn't try a cure with radiation that is why you are still here with us. How your prostate cancer radiation is going? Did you have a PSMA pet scan recently? What is the SUV max now?
Hi, had 28 IMRT sessions that ended in April and so far the PSA has responded well. It was rising 50% each month, hitting 34, but now it's at 2.9 💙
RO said to do a PSMA when the PSA climbs and hopefully that won't be til well into next year, maybe I'll get to my 10th Cancerversary on 10/13/2024 before more treatments are needed.
I did a PSMA pet scan a year after radiation for sensitivity and now I am doing the prostate MRI for specificity and on Friday the super specialist will compare the PSMA pet scan and the mpMRI of my prostate to diagnose recurrence and if I need new radiation of the prostate.
PS. : hope we stay in touch about the results. Our member Brysonal also had a PSMA pet scan and a visible PSMA avid lesion in his heavily radiated prostate. The biopsy is not recommended or even possible (see the study).
My RO believe that there should not be a cancer even if the prostate lit up on the PSMA pet scan. My prostate SUV max value was 6.5. before radiation it was 14.
I am just wandering if it is recurrence or not? My PSA rapidly rising and want to know if it is because of the recurrence in my prostate or because of micromets.
If the cancer is still in the prostate than I have to irradiate it again, or if it is because of micromets elsewhere in my body than I should start Nubeqa as a system treatment.
