treatment Plan

This is my first…

Recently diagnosed with HRPC including regional lymphadenopathy and two small metastasized spots to the pelvic bone. Details are in my bio. Treatment plan saw me start ADT (orgovyx) two weeks ago with my testosterone dropping today to .1 nmol/L and my PSA from 43 to 11. I begin 20 sessions of external beam radiotherapy 19 Dec and will start abiraterone (1000mg) and prednisone (5mg) for 2 years at the completion of the radiation so that we’re adding side effects in a sequential fashion.

I’ve learned so much from this forum and remain grateful to everyone for this.

Everyone’s knowledge on this subject far exceeds mine, so I’d welcome any comments on the proposed treatment plan. From my take it does seem inline with what I’ve read here. I’m hoping to hit the cancer hard from the beginning.

It’s been a difficult couple of months from a mental health aspect. Appreciate your support.

There is nothing wrong with this plan. You could ask the RO if he can also radiate the mets with SBRT. I would prefer to get rid of these.

If you want to reduce side effects you could stop with Abiraterone after six months.

Thanks for the confirmation. My understanding is the radiation therapy will include the Mets, but I’ll make sure when I see him later this week.

Triplet therapy is now the sstandard of care for cases like yours. I believe Canada uses triplet therapy. Please have a conversation with your oncologist about it before you start abiraterone. They have to start together or you will lose the benefit. Here's more about it:

Thanks for the suggestion. Just read the link. Very interesting. I will certainly bring this up with my oncologist. Appreciate the input.
