Abiraterone and Anti-Malaria Drugs

I never thought we would be asking this question after my husband got his diagnosis of metastatic PCa in May this year. We thought we probably wouldn’t be doing much traveling anymore. But things are going well so far so we want to seize the moment and we are considering another international trip in the next few months. Has anyone taken an anti-malaria drug while on abiraterone, prednisone and Lupron? What kind did you take? Was there any problem? Side effects?

Important to discuss with dr who prescribing you anti-malaria drugs

Thank you, we did message and the response was not that informative. The MO basically said that a lot of drugs interact with Abiraterone and he couldn’t say not knowing which anti-malaria drug it would be. I was hoping someone on here has actually taken one of them and had it work out all right with the Abiraterone. If we can’t fine one, we probably wouldn’t want to schedule the trip. Unlikely to get malaria, but wouldn’t want to deal with that on top of PCa. Thank you for responding. All the best.

MO or dr can NOT prescribe something without understanding risk
