I recently was treated for Gleason 7, ( 4+3) with 5 SBRT radiation treatments and will have a total of 4 Lupron (ADT) injections over the next year. I have currently had two. A few weeks following the first injection, I began experiencing severe hot flashes at night. I could deal with it during day my turning a fan on me. But at night, by time I woke up, I was deep into it. It took some time to cool down. When I went for my second injection 3 months after the first, I sniveled and whined about how uncomfortable it was. My PA giving the injection, went and spoke to a Doctor. He recommended a low dose Anti-Anxiety medication, Venlafaxine XR capsule 75MG. After receiving the injection, I continued having hot flashes until the meds came. Once I started on the medication, I have had no more hot flashes. my last injection was on August 8, 2024. NO HOT FLASHES DESPITE BEING IN YUMA, AZ TO HUNT DOVE AT 117 degrees. Obviously, I don't know if I am unusual or this will work for others. However, I can say it has worked, thus far, for me. If anything changes, I will report such changes. I hope this helps someone.

Lucky you, it didn't do anything for me. I work out and tried 3 antidepressants and acupuncture to no avail. Finally got put on Veozah it has done wonders. Insurance however will not cover it as it's for female menopause.
I tried, I have Wellcare for part D ------- Denied - This drug used for #&DER.PrimaryDiagnosisDescription# is not an approved use. Medicare Part D rules states the drug must be used for a "medically-accepted indication". A "medically-accepted indication" means a use that is approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), or a use supported by specific resources. These are the American Hospital Formulary Service Drug Information and DRUGDEX Information System. Therefore, this drug cannot be covered under your Medicare Part D benefit.
I stated that a drug stopped my hot flashes!!! Not that I was real bright!!! But been hunting in the heat since very young. Spent first 35 years of my life Hot in Imperial Count, California. Now live in Carlsgood, (aka Carlsbad) CA. Thanks for the chuckle!!
