Hi , I started Nubeqa (Darolutamide )1200 mg 2 tabs twice daily this week along with continued ADT . I’ve never had a stomach issue in my life but that’s all changed. I’m constantly nauseous most of the day.It starts almost immediately after the morning dose which I’ve tried before food with food and after food .I know this is a very effective drug to keep the beast at bay for another while. No other side effect yet as I’m not long on it As always any information/ help is always greatly appreciate Thanks

Just to show how everybody is different, I’ve been on NUBEQA for over a year and a half… never a hint of nausea.

Bayer’s instructions are to take NUBEQA with food. Absorbation is greatly decreased if taken without food.

I truly hope you can get a fix on your nausea, NUBEQA apparently is very good stuff 😉

Thanks for that information

just wondering where you read that. I know absorption is affected with Abiraterone and it requires you take it with a meal but Nubeqa states with food, not a meal. I take mine in the morning with a banana or a few ounces of yogurt but only a full meal at dinner. Could it be that “with food” merely to prevent nausea vs. absorption of the medication? Appreciate your feedback. To the OP, no issues with stomach upset for me.

Also thinking does it make a difference extending time between doses . 10 am to 10 pm or even an hour or so more , Thanks for the help and info

I take mine around 8 in the morning then again aroubd 5:30 in the early evening.

I asked my medical oncologist “how much food” is enough, and he said not very much, suggesting even a large granola bar would be adequate. Nonetheless, I always have more than that.

I wish I could remember! I can’t even recall if it said that absorbtion was reduced BY 41% or reduced TO 41%…either way it is a substantial reduction.

Actually, officially abiraterone is supposed to be taken 4 pills daily without food.

Some do take 1 pill daily with food, as an alternative. That issue has been discussed a fair amount in this forum.

Have you tried taking Ondansetron for the nausea? Often prescribed by the MO while on Chemo, but might be helpful for your issue.

I have been on Nubeqa and Lupron for two years. The only side effects that I have had has been. hot flashes. I take Nubequa with a bowl of cereal in the morning and with some food at night. My psa has been. undetectable after about one month of taking these drugs. I am going to take a break from these drugs at the two year mark in September. I keep asking the medical oncologist if the cancer is gone and he just says it's asleep. Does anyone have experience with taking a break from these drugs?
