i have a colonoscopy tomorrow morning. Since I can’t have any food tomorrow morning, should I just go ahead and take the Nubeqa without food or just skip that does? Thanks!

Since no one replied and it is for tomorrow I did some checking. From what I read the food is meant to increase absorption not reduce stomach issues so you could take it with a clear liquid you are allowed to have for the colonoscopy. Broth? Apple juice?

Thank you SO much for your thoughtful response. Yep, I took a chance and took the Nubeqa with a huge portion of lemon Jello. It’ll be Jello, broth, and Gatorade for me until after the deep dive tomorrow! 🤪. I’ve had worse… a lot worse 😉

I see no issues with your taking the meds on a clear liquid diet

Don’t sweat the small stuff. Delaying a dose will have zero effect on PCa progression. It doesn’t wake up that fast.

To Pinkyboy,

Can I stop my nubeqa for one dose before my scheduled colonoscopy?

It's important to consult with your healthcare provider regarding any medications, including Nubeqa (darolutamide), before a procedure like a colonoscopy. However, in general, for procedures like colonoscopies, doctors often recommend temporarily stopping certain medications, especially those that could affect bleeding or interact with sedation.

Nubeqa, being a medication for prostate cancer, does not typically have major interactions with a colonoscopy. However, it's always safest to follow your doctor's instructions for stopping any medication. You might be advised to stop Nubeqa a few days before the colonoscopy, or they might give you specific guidelines based on your overall health and other medications.

Make sure to discuss your schedule, the timing of your colonoscopy, and the specifics of your cancer treatment with your oncologist or primary care provider to get the best advice.

Good Luck, Good Health and Good Humor.
