Hey Warriors - just had my 12 week blood work since the end of chemo and then also radiation.

PSA now at .08 - thats the lowest I have had since contacting this prick of a disease.

End of chemo was .52 and .48 so pretty significant. The plan now is to test again every 12wks/3mths and act only upon increased PSA or pain etc...

So, its a weird spot to be in, very grateful of course but still I have PCa ;(

Tough lives we live guys - keep your head up!

Super congratulations Yzinger! Outstanding result. And checking your bio I see you are on Lupron ADT and Nubeqa ("Darolutamide"), an "androgen receptor antagonist". Together with the chemo you have just finished, I think this makes triplet therapy, yes? Keep up the good work and an ongoing success! And if you can don't forget to exercise 😃

Thanks - yes triplet therapy - however, I thought triplet was Lupron, Daro (or other) and Chemo?

I'm in Nova Scotia, Canada.

1. Triplet therapy is doublet therapy plus chemo, is my understanding.

2. Nubeqa (tradename) is Darolutamide, yes?

3. So the PCa drug therapy doublet recipe is:

a) ADT (either a GnRH agonist or a GnRH antagonist, corresponding to Lupron or Firmagon etc. respectively).

b) plus an ARPI (Abiraterone) or an AR antagonist (Darolutamide etc. etc.)

ha, now that you added this it makes sense:

Together with the chemo you have just finished, I think this makes triplet therapy, yes?

Yes its a waiting game, and you need to find an inner peace/acceptance in where you are. Things move slowly from here and you only have 3monthly psa to gauge how you are doing. Personally I consider that anything under 1.0 is not significant - we are looking for 3 consecutive increases and PSA of over 2 to promt for further action. So sit back and enjoy each day and take things as they come

yeah well said - its tough to not think about what might be going on during that 3mth window huh.

Not what you're looking for?
