I hope this note finds people sheltering in place and being safe, while we deal with this new challenge ( we don’t have enough on our plates).
Anyway I went to the Mayo on Monday for a choline PET scan after completing 6 cycles of Taxatere. PSA had been dropping nicely but then doubled between 4-5 infusion but the we did drop to 1.2 hand have stayed steady for several weeks. Scan showed resolution of Mets in my lymph nodes, however I have anew met on my left femur and left 5th rib. So good news is we should be able to hit the Mets with SBRT and they added another 2 cycles of chemo.
Overall pleased with the results and we’ll have done well in this round in this round of “Whack-a-mole”.
Other good news is the ice should go off the lake this week so time to breakout the pontoon.
Stay well and give this disease hell!!!

That is a good result. I finished 6 rounds of Taxotere with concurrent ADT in December and PSA dropped to 0.3 from 18 on 1/3. Choline C-11 PET showed no perceptible uptake in paraaortic nodes whereas July 2019 both PETs showed contiguous disease in left paraaortic nodes up to level of diaphragm but nowhere else. Then began IMRT in hypofractionated dose for 3 weeks (clinical trial 3 weeks instead of 5 weeks) to paraaortic nodes with maximum tissue dose of 49 Gyu to node near duodenum. Awaiting 3 month post-PSA in early May. Not enthused about any further attempt at PRESENTLY AVAILBLE currative therapy (or palliative) and hope to end ADT at 18 or 24 months as advised, get on with my what remains of my years God willing.
