After 13 months of ADT vacation, I've gone back on ADT last week. This time I am on Relugovix (Orgovyx) instead of Lupron.
Since I exercise pretty much everyday, even upping my training a little more on the cardio side of late, I think I am doing not too bad against the fatigue from the ADT. Then again, since I had only recovered about half my former energy levels even after 13 months of ADT vacation, maybe the energy decrease simply did not feel as steep as the first time around.
I kind of expected brain fog to come back but so far it has not appeared to hit me too much, at least not as bad as when I was on Lupron which made reading hard for me. Then again it is early days but I am keeping my fingers crossed.
But yesterday at around 14h00 I've experienced something while I was doing the groceries with my wife. I felt progressively more and more drunk even though I have not drank alcohol in years. It got so bad that I told my wife to take the wheel for the drive back home and to not let me make any important decisions until I felt better.
At around 15h30 I tried to take a nap but my mind was all over the place, still feeling drunk. An hour later I was a little better though not back to normal. This morning however I am fine.
Has anyone else here gone through something like that? And if you did, have you found a way to counteract that feeling of being drunk ?
Thanks

Thanks. Hopefully I am not a lone case as that makes it harder to find a solution but it would not be the first time. Casodex/Bicalutamide is not know for drastic and quick weight loss and inducing breathing issues but that was how I had reacted to it when the dosage went from 50mg to 100mg.
Can't function to well much less work as a programmer while drunk.
Did some more research on the side-effects and while I did not find anything about feeling drunk, I did find mentions of confusion as a side effect here: mayoclinic.org/drugs-supple...
So I am not alone in my drunken-like confusion.
Now the trick is to find what to do in order to get rid of it.
Please keep us updated! My treatments are similar, 2 years on Lupron, 10 month vacation, started Orgovyx 10 days ago, pickleball to fight lethargy, so far no detectable side effects…
Aside from the confusion that began at around 14h00 in the last two days, I now have the need to take at least a 45 minutes nap which I did not need to take back when I was on ADT vacation.
I am finding that I have a much harder time falling asleep and remaining asleep, whether it is during the night or for a nap. So far my attempts to fall asleep during my nap did not succeed though the nap still helps as it relaxes me anyway I guess.
So not too bad when it comes to side-effects when on weekends. But on weekdays it does impact my work as a programmer since I only get a few hours of thinking clearly per day.
I completed 12 months of Orgovyx in April (last dose, the 3rd). Like you, I exercise, most every day. I did not experience the side effect you describe.
What I did experience:
Fatigue
Hot flashes
Muscle and joint stiffness
Genitalia shrinkage
Weight gain
Those were annoying but not altering my life.
The fatigue and muscle and joint stiffness pretty much went away in the 2-3 weeks after stopping. The hot flashes, genitalia shrinkage and weight gain are the gift that keeps on giving and will take more time to resolve!
lupron and 4 Erleada gave me severe Vertigo, reduced Erleada to 3 pills it went away. After 9-12 months down to 2 pills with Lupron still undetectable after 3 1/2 years
