It now appears that I’ve entered the land of castrate resistance and further ADT vacations are no longer in the plan.
My T level recovered much more quickly during the last vacation than during previous vacations, and my PSA rose correspondingly. At 4 months my T level was 325 and my PSA was 4. Another PSMA scan showed essentially what the previous PSMA scan showed about 18 months ago - some small bone mets in my hemi/pelvis but no progression.
Lupron was started again. At that time my PSA was up to 13. (It took a while to get the PSMA scan and the subsequent MO and RO appointments) After about 7 weeks on Lupron my PSA fell to 2. But at the 4 month checkup my PSA had risen to 4 with my T level at 13 indicating castrate resistance. I’ve now added Abiraterone to the Lupron. My next checkup is at the end of March to check my PSA and my liver numbers. When I initially started Abi 6 years ago my liver numbers went wonky at first. My MO stopped the Abi for a month and my liver numbers recovered. I had no more problems after that.
Based on the results of the upcoming checkup there may be adjustments to my future treatment.
Let the fun begin ….
