Rising PSA

Hi, have updated my profile to reflect recent changes. A gradual increase in PSA (1.2) with the prospect of changes to treatment if it continues at the current rate and gets near to 4.

The oncologist is suggesting probably chemo but I would like to know more about other options before that discussion so that I am prepared. Any suggestions would be most welcome so that I am as well informed as possible.

Many thanks.

You may be able to reduce the docetaxel dose if it is combined with Xofigo:

I ll have to find the article again.

I read Docetaxel 50 mg/m2 every 2 weeks worked as well as 75 mg/m2 every 3 weeks with less SEs. Have you seen that one?

This was 60 mg/m2 every 3 weeks for 10 weeks. It reduced incidence of febrile neutropenia to zero, while other adverse events were reduced markedly. At the same time, progression-free survival was prolonged by the combination.

Read my posts. I'm not versed in science acronyms like what you read here but I know what worked for me and hundreds of others.

I am under the NHS too and have a similar bio to yours. The only option the NHS had to offer after Xtandi failed was docetaxel and I believe the only remaining treatment on offer after that is cabizataxel.
