"Epstein allegedly gave second opinions or pressured other doctors to give second opinions that validated diagnoses determined by his wife, a fellow pathologist, the Post reported. In one such alleged example, Epstein validated a diagnosis made by his wife, Hillary Epstein, MD, which led to a patient having their bladder removed. However, post-surgical tests revealed that the initial diagnosis was incorrect and the surgery was unnecessary."
Oh my.. (he upgraded my PCA from G9 to G10.. the G9 was the assessment by two other pathologists, but one was 5-4 and the other 4-5.. so 10 might well have been correct.)

Wow! Epstein downgraded my husband's bladder cancer from high grade to low grade three years ago...which led to a less aggressive treatment plan....scary if it was wrong. Recently Johns Hopkins gave second opinion on his recent prostate biopsy, but of course Epstein's not there... hopefully the other pathologists are competent.
IMHO you folks are convicting someone before he has had a trial, and I see no evidence in this that proves Epstein is incompetent. He does not agree with the accusation, of course. In any event,no Doc, even the "best", is perfect!!!!!
Why does this have anything to do witha person's decision on pursuing an MD?
