Why is my Dad’s Vitamin B12 levels so high?
He is not taking any supplements with Vitamin B12 and is not eating foods in excess that contain the vitamin. His vitamin b12 level is 1,300(+). They never check this during his normal labs but yesterday, I asked if they would check it this time along with vitamin D levels. He just finished his 10 rounds of chemo 4 weeks ago and is only taking his daily 10mg of steroids. His PSA is currently 57.......What could be causing this high reading of b12? I did find an article that stated “high reading of vitamin b12 was an indication of increased morbidity”
Can anyone shed some light??
Thank you!
