I think Gary Onik has a clinical trial that does that.

I chose to have Dr. Onik's experimental Immuno Injection in 2015 following his Hemi-Cryoabltion of my prostate's right half with 5+5 tumor. He said I would be his FIRST Patient to have it and *No Guarantees Made* but it would be laying the Ground Work for what is now his Protocol. 👍👍so far

Has your prostrate been biopsied since your ablation? I did not have immuno therapy, but as part of a Dr. Lepor of NYU study, my right side Gleason 9 prostate was hemi-ablated with cryo in 2017. Two years later, the follow up post op biopsy revealed Gleason 9 on both sides. A year later my PSA reached 7.1 and my MO (of the past 30 years of stage C rectal cancer followed by metastatic lung disease 27 years previous) started me on Lupron. After 2 years, I went on ADT vacation and I’m waiting until my PSA hits 3+ to return on ADT…

I had lesser Gleason in left half that he used IRE on. In 2018 my PSA rose and an Axumin Scan showed 3 new spots so a new biopsy was done and the 3 lesions were located for IRE with NOTHING in right area. Had orchiectomy in 2015 so I've never been on ADT drugs and since I am doing a TRT (Testosterone Replacement Therapy) I keep PSA number close at hand. Just shot up last Friday and will get another next week eventually normalizing my T at 500/600 ng/dL.

Fascinating history since 2015. Could you tell us about your PSA history beginning in 2015 and whether your current spike will .prompt a new scan. You had a spike in 2018 and the Auxumin scan showed 3 new spots on the left side . What was the Gleason score on the 3 new spots and how did they that compare to the spots found in 2015. Did you conclude the 2018 spots were de novo or just missed in 2015. And finally, you had the orchiectomy to get rid of the testosterone but then went on replacement therapy. Was that the plan …or did you supplement post orchiectomy because of how you felt ? Would you recommend an orchiectomy if one did not want to supplement?

Thanks

PSA was 14+ when PCP found lump via DRE in 2014 but I stupidly took no action due to not wanting to interrupt training for 5K to Marathon and an upcoming 140.6 Ironman and 100+ mile bicycling events.

My recent PSA concerns were r.e. doubling time and since I was actively injecting Testosterone -- I simply STOPPED THE *T* and became castrate level <2ng/ml with PSA reacting by going down. Have now held low PSA so I began *T* again last Friday and we shall see what happens. Not a true BAT Protocol just fooling around with it on my own accord. Might kill me or not??? Having a good time or Quality of Life, not concerned about quantity.

The Orchiectomy was my plan and definitely opposite the urologist's advice. I simply did not want drugs put in when the nuts could easily go out resulting in a *one & done.*

Going on Testosterone was Dr. Onik's wish so I would have an advantage maintaining my cycling and speed walking endurance thus lots of beneficial exercise.

Left side was originally GL6 and new was 6 & 7 different location.

Hopefully above made some sense and if not, then it's all the more reason my cycling friends on STRAVA call me Psycho Johnny

My husband had the first treatment by Dr. Onik in 2020 on his right hip...scan.results were good and PSA dropped. However, a year later, he did the right femur because PSA was rising and and PSMA scan showed more of a spread to the right femur. This procedure was not successful and it was most likely, according to Dr. Onik, that the cancer had a different genetic make-up than the cancer on the right side.

Saddened to read your post. My wife has been very supportive from the onset and understands well -- "You pays your money and you takes your chances" -- and from the get go that not sticking to SOC could mean I'm shortening my life.

Thank you for responding. Did Medicare or insurance cover it?

Did you or anyone you know go there? If yes, what was the outcome?

Thank You

I don't know anyone who has gone there. I've only read about his clinic.

Dr. Onik believes that the combination of cryotherapy and immunotherapy has an abscopal effect, meaning that it triggers your immune system to recognize the malignancy and attack any other cancerous cells in the body.

Awareness of *abscopal effect* has been around a while --

*In 1953, unexpected regression in lesions outside of the irradiated field were noted by an observant physician, RH Mole, who named such phenomenon “abscopal effect” from the Latin ab (position away from) and scopus (mark or target), in an article published in this journal.*

Way way back in time, when I was a Newbie (2002) I heard good news about freezing (Cryotherapy) your Pca. It was too new (and performed only on the west coast) for me to elect to having it done. (So they cut out my Prostate using a vintage multi-purpose number 3 boy scout knife / not rusty btw)...I still think there's good news around about the freezing..... Keep checking......
