If you are referring to Provenge, there are virtually no side effects for most men other than mild fatigue.

The process is less than fun, but the side effects were positive to me for a while

Could you please elaborate on : 1) The process is less than fun 2) The side effects were positive to me for a while.

Thanks and all the very best to you, wrando.

The Leukapheresis part was not fun for me. I hate being stuck in a chair for hours, but bring a laptop and a movie and it's not so bad. As for the effects of the treatment I was on Zytiga already and after the treatment I felt really good for a few months. Better than I've felt since getting sick.

Thanks for the reply, wrando. I could sit in a chair for hours reading from an actual physical book. These modern devices do nothing for me.

I get what you were trying to say about the feeling good part.

Cheers, wrando.

No side effects. It’s a long process so as long as you find something to entertain yourself that doesn’t require the use of your arms you’ll be less bored. I listened to 60 minutes reruns. Make sure you dress warm and they have blankets in case you get cold. Make sure you pee right before they start so hopefully you won’t have to go during. The process is painless but tedious.

Thanks I had my first experience on the machine but I haven’t had the provenge treated blood put back in. That’s what is making me nervous. What side effects did you experience at that point. I’ve read some of the side effects are not pleasant.

No side effects for me when the put the blood back in. I think most folks do not experience any side effects.

I went through a Provenge treatment with no side effects. The worst thing was that tube sticking out of my chest. I was so relieved to get it removed after the six week treatment.

Yes I hate it also. Can’t shower well and hard to sleep

I didn't have any problems other than being tired and cold the day of the procedure. I didn't have a port put in.
