Are any of you on immunotherapy ... clinical trial or not? Have any of your Urologists and/or Oncologists suggested immunotherapy?

Had Provenge. About to start a trial which combines a chemo agent with an immunotherapy agent (Niraparib and JNJ-63723283).

Hi Monty I am about to start on Niraparib next week on a clinical trial. It is actually a PARP inhibitor. Not chemo, and not immunotherapy. What are you pairing it with (ie what is JNJ-63723283)?

Hello Hazard, My bad for referring Niraparib as a chemo agent after it was described to me by a member of my clinical trial team as chemo. You are correct, it is not a chemo agent. JNJ-63723283 is an investigational immune checkpoint inhibitor. It is being developed by Janssen.

Hi Monty that sounds like an interesting trial I like the idea of hitting cancer with 2 barrels. Hope it goes well - please provide updates!

I get first dose of Niraparib next week (Galahad Trial) but as a single agent only. Another Janssen product. Since Janssen has lost patents to Ztiga I guess that they now need to get people onto new treatments. Well as long as they work I won't mind.

Best Wishes, Hazard

Rooting for you and hoping the Niraparib (Galahad Trial) will be an outstanding success for you. You too...please keep us updated.

Take Care, Monty

I completed an NIH trial of chemo and PROSTVAC. The stage 2 trial of about 30 men was considered a failure but it seemed to have worked for me. At the end of 6 cycles of chemo, ADT and after radical prostatectomy and lymph node surgery my PSA was .14 then took off and peaked at .44 at the end of 6 prostvac cycles. Gradually came down and has hit a plateau at about .08 for almost a year. I’m going off ADT so soon will find out if the immune therapy could have been the reason for the PSA decline.

Did pembrolizumab and enzalutamide trial. Unfortunately am one of the less than 1% that developed type1 diabetes. On positive note cancer is stable with some lymph node shrinkage. Diagnosed 2011 gleason9 had RP now mcrpc.

Get second Provenge infusion tomorrow the 8th. Except for the fatigue everything going okay. Starting physical therapy after last infusion to try and fight off the fatigue. Not on clinical trial but as recommended by urology oncologist. On lupron and Xtandi as well. Last PSA was 1.4

Best of luck to you.
