TRT anyone?

I was Dx Gleason 8 (4+4) 2015 at 70 years old; had IMRT (25 sessions) & seeds early 2016; shortly after PSA went to .44, but progressively increased to 1.95 by Jan 16 2018; then started dropping: Feb 26 was 1.3, Apr 2 was 1.18, then July 2 it dropped to 0.83. by

11/29/19 0.11 PSA

6/2/20 0.06

8/31/20 0.06

3/2/21 0.03

8/27/21 0.03

12/2/21 0.02

2/25/22 0.02

8/26/22 0.01

12/12/22 0.01

2/27/23 <0.01

Aug 2022 it’s been 0.01 and Feb 2023 it was less than 0.01.;

My Testosterone has fallen also:

8/25/17 158.40 ng/dL

6/8/21 136 ng/dL

Oct 2022 87 ng/dL

The R/O never told me about daily Cialis or the pump, by the time I discovered them it was past atrophy, total ED; to date the ‘little’ fellow is just there…I’ve lost muscle, strength, and gained lower abdominal fat; I still workout (35 yrs) 4-5 days a week/weights; 5’10” tall and have gone from 210# (some muscle) to 195#, where triceps wave to you; strength now is nowhere was even a year ago. I read somewhere, don’t remember where, that TRT is ‘only’ for men who’ve had surgery and only if they’ve had low PSA for 2 plus years. Can I get opinions on TRT, how long you waited, if received after RT, SE, any regrets, age, etc…

Thank you

I regained muscle lost plus added muscle using SARMS, not sure what kind of effect or possible problems you may encounter using TRT

mrscruffy. You're talking about sarms here and I'm very curious about that. I just purchased some osterine and was going to start on it in a couple of days.

Can you please share any experience you have with this ie, dosage, frequency Etc please? Because it's banned, it's very hard to get any information. Thanks!

It is kind of a do it yourself experiment. I personally use 15mg a day, 20 mg was giving me fatigue. I workout lifting heavy 5 days a week and consume lots of protein. I cycle on and off, 6 weeks on and 4 weeks off. The only SE that I have encountered is a drop in my HDL which is a known SE, thus the cycling on and off. I gained an inch on my biceps in less than a year, have well developed shoulders and can leg press like crazy. When on cycle my lifts are about 10 lbs higher than off cycle. It was designed as a prostate cancer drug and suppresses T production. Zytiga was beginning to fail me and Ostarine gave me another year and a half of low PSA numbers. I have friends without Prostate Cancer who are using it and having fabulous results. You are correct it is a banned substance and I hear many athletes that test "dirty" is from using SARMS. Any other questions let me know, between my self and my trainer we can probably answer them. By the way it was introduced to me by my trainer as we weren't seeing results from my workouts, she is awesome. Good luck with it, I began to see subtle yet visible results into my second cycle. Take pics of yourself as a reference point and do body measurements.

Thanks for the info!! I have always been muscular from years of lifting (I'm 67 as of today). I have never been really "big" at 5' 10" I usually would average about 165-168lbs. I started losing weight before my recent recurrance and dropped down to about 158. I am about to finish 28 days of Rad. and on Zytiga and Abi. for a month now. I see the mucle disappearing but still working on them albeit not as hard as I was. I'm hoping this Osterine will help me. It was great being on TRT for 9 years before the bad news popped up...again. I only have 1 pelvic node that "lit up" from the PSMA. No other Mets. Do you really think it's the Oster. that's helping you or the hard training and eating..? I think I will wait for my last 3 Rad. sessions and then start. Thanks again if you have any other insights....

Pretty sure it is the Ostarine, I was working with my trainer and we just weren't seeing results until I started incorporating it

That's really good to hear as is your Dr's. assessment.

Thanks!

Also my MO new exactly what Osterine was and the science behind it. He couldn't recommend it but didn't have a problem with me taking it. When I asked him if I was his son would he recommend it he said,"yes"

Sorry to bug you again but; How do you take the Ost? Mixed in water, a shake, right from the dropper/spoon? Thanks again.

I take it in pill form. I asked my trainer and she said her clients using liquid put it under their tongue.

I took about 10mg today under the tongue. OMG that tastes horrible.... lol. I will definately mix it in with something tomorrow. Thanks a lot mrscruffy!

Don't forget to up your protein content. I do 1.2g per Kg as well as consume Creatine and BCCA's

I wonder if DHEA could provide a similar benefit? Anyone use this?

I had to look up SARMS:

3 years before starting TRT?

Tall_Allen profile image
Tall_Allen in reply togaryjp9

Yes. My PSA took that long to settle down convincingly after SBRT, so that I knew I wasn't recurrent.

Are you on ADT drugs, or were you?

No ADT or anything like that; just radiation, and seeds and that was it...

I have no experience with TRT, but I did take HCG to assist in return of T post ADT treatment.

At age 78 and PSA 0.06 or lower for 3 years I would definitely try TRT if I were you. However, of equal importance is to increase the intensity of your weight training if you can do it safely. This would augment any exogenous T nicely.
