Weakness in legs/calf muscles?

Me...stage 4 PC with bones mets. Just finishing first 6 months on Lupron. Despite regular leg exercises, I have incredible weakness in legs/calf muscles, making it very difficult to walk. Anyone else experience this? Is this caused by Lupron? Any solutions?

Thank you.

My Husband stage 4 with mets, on Lupron and Zytiga, he used to have good upper leg muscle, but after 5yrs on these meds (3 Zytiga) sounds the same as you. He has lost a lot of muscle , to the point where he no longer wants to wear shorts on holidays.

His calf muscles are ok, but he does get 'random' pains up and down his legs. He takes one Tramadol before bed to help him sleep.

He tells me his strength in general has declined (upper body etc.. ) he is 66years old. From playing Football (Soccer) four times a week, up until he was 50, to this breaks my heart.

Been on ADT for 7 years, I fight it with not just exercises but lifting heavy to failure and eating tons of protein and taking SARMS. Actually bigger and stronger than I was in my late 30's, I approach my workouts like a body builder. In the gym 5 days a week even now while on vacation in Costa Rica. In the beginning did lots of cardio and I lost muscle

What Sarms and what dosage?

I use Ostarine at 15mg a day for 6 weeks then off for 4 weeks. Dose for everyone is different and takes some experimentation. 20mg gave me fatigue. My MO knew exactly what it was and endorsed it

Thanks will check with mine.

Ok so what do you mean by regular leg exercises?

How extensive were the mets?

Any in the spine?

When was the last scan?

Psa?

One thing us PCa guys have to worry about is a spinal compression due to bone mets in the spine. There is nothing in anything you posted beyond 6 months of lupron, so I do not want to be alarmist, but one of the symptoms of a spinal compression is leg weakness

I have also been having problems walking for the last year. Started Abiraterone, Prednisolone & Decapeptyl in early 2020. If I walk more than 2km my feet can swell up making walking uncomfortable for a few weeks until they recover which restricts my exercising. Then the cycle starts again. I have recently discover my THYROID STIMULATING HORMONE TSH is bad at 16.9 so GP has started me on Levothyroxine. ONC thinks it could help, I hope it does. You could consider getting your thyroid checked. Hope this helps.

As has been suggested, we need to know what ‘regular leg exercises’ means specifically in order to assess.

Nothing like that happened to me. Do you have any nerve damage? I'd tell my doc asap.

Very much so. I had strong legs from daily hiking up a small mountain, now watching my leg muscles shrink. I crushed T12 vertebrae and have had spinal fusion, so any weight exercise I do must keep bending of the back to zero. I'm allowed to lift 20#, but even that is becoming difficult. For leg strengthening, I grab a counter edge and do squats keeping my back vertical. It was hard to begin, but it's getting easier so must be working. Also walk 2 miles most days. If I do any heavier weights I do it laying on my back, or pulling from the rear at 90 degrees to spine braced by a back board.
