Hello, I have been on Xtandi about 2 months. I started having severe calf and leg pain. To the point where I can hardly walk. Presently they've taken me off the drug and it's been 5 days. Anyone else have this problem if so how long does it take to go away incredibly painful.

First make sure you you don't have a deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in your leg. That's the complication that can kill you.

I had referred pain in my leg while on Zytiga (which I still am). It turned out to be from a rogue metastasis in my sacrum, which was not responding to the drug and which was found using an MRI. A quick zap of radiation sorted it out.

My hubby started on xtandi about Thanksgiving time after the PSA started rising while on zytiga. Never felt well on xtandi. Within about 3 weeks he could barely walk and was dragging around on a walker and having a hard time standing up. After another month with no PSA change, we stopped the xtandi and within 2 weeks he is walking almost normally.

It seems any ADT treatment can contribute to circulatory issues, and it's worth seeing a cardio specialist to see if you're experiencing peripheral artery disease..(PAD). PAD is primarily caused by restricted or blocked leg arteries and that can be at least partly caused by the lower testosterone resulting from ADT.

Just a heads up to anyone on ADT - find a cardiologist and have them do a workup on you. Something like 35% of men on ADT die from cardio issues, a much higher percentage compared to men not on ADT.

My dad is on xtandi and can barely walk some days he is like a cripple, they have reduced his mg to half and still no difference, shooting pains from feet to calf to shin, they are now referring him for a mri due to meta in his spine, adt therapy as such awful side effects hope you get it sorted I really do, as I know how it’s effected my par on a daily basis xx

I keep asking my par this very question and he can not tell, how do you tell any suggestions? Xx

My par as wide spread mets though out his skeleton, and in his spine,it does get worse at night time for sure, but doesn’t keep him awake at night, the only thing that wakes him is if he turns over and that’s his back, he takes pain meds,.... tramodol slow release morning and night, and normal tramodol 50mg in the day 2 3 times daily, if he does not have it or on time then he knows he is due, but he still as pain, some days he is great and walks good, others he can barley walk at all, mo as halved his xandi but to no benefit at all, so we have decided that he is going to go on full dose again when next sees his drug specialist in 2 wks time he is having a mri scan Thursday on his spine to see if anything is going on or his mets have got worse, thank you so much for getting back to me it means a lot hope your well xx
