Edit:It’s been spoken for, but you can get a copy on Amazon.
Book by Kevin Webber about his running obsession and doing marathons daily for several days in the Sahara desert, the artic and everywhere in the world. He has metastatic prostate cancer and has raised about $750,000 for prostate cancer research by the end of the book, so probably lots more since.
Glad to give the book to someone on this forum but don't really want to mail it so if you are in the Vancouver, BC area, let me know. We can do a hand off. If nobody local, then I can mail it. Send a PM.

I am indeed still here . Now 8.5 years from diagnosis . Running every day just to prove what’s possible when you get T4N1M1A. Next big race in 16 days ,Bhutan ,120 miles and 35,000 ft of elevation , no idea if I will finish but if you don’t start then you will never know! Before I was diagnosed just an ordinary occasional runner with a desk based job . Now run over 15,000 miles since diagnosis . To all on this site , never give up until it’s physically not possible .
KUDOS to your living life to the fullest. For sure an inspiration.
I wonder if you've read about Dr. George Sheehan a Cardiologist, runner, author - diagnosed with prostate cancer in 1986 with it already in bones also wrote about living with his PCa and did so until his death from PCa on November 1, 1993 four days before his 75th birthday His 4:47 mile was the world's first sub-five-minute by a 50-year-old.
I always keep this quote of his in my mind - -
“We are each an experiment of one. A unique, never-to-be repeated event.”
Hi Kevin, read your book and follow you on social media channels. So impressive! I’m also running daily, did some marathons, when I was younger and lots of shorter racers. But nothing comparable to your adventures. Sometimes I think about joining you one day but then I’m afraid of my own courage. Wishing you all the very best for Bhutan!
but if you don’t put your foot on the start line you will never know ? As they say in baseball “if you don’t take your foot off first you will never steal second !”
Yes, I know. Let’s see. Basically I’m in reasonable shape with my 2-3 hours daily sports program. If I decide I’ll touch base and ask you for your advice.
it’s all about doing what you can rather than worry about what you can’t. At our demise no one says “I wish I spent more time watching tv, posting on Facebook and crying” live for the day my friend
so sorry about the bone , it’s my thing , push as hard as I can until ……..I can’t . I have box sets of videos to watch that I refuse to right now because when the day comes when I can’t go out then it’s time for TV but until then I will do what I can . Thanks for writing , hope you do what you can .
thanks for replying , no I have never read that piece. He is so right though , I read this site (and others daily) with people understandably desperate to find the magic bullet for a cancer cure . One size does not fit all . I always say , maybe I was always destined to die on the 23rd November 2023 (or whenever) and all the stuff I have done (exercise , diet etc) has made no difference however by doing what I think is best for me then I have tried in a way that I believe in and that is enough to mentally take on this battle every day .
We are a holistic piece of art by far too complex to understand all the mechanisms inside our body & brain. We have medicines, therapies and then we have placebos and even nocebos. So I follow the path of applying what my doctors recommend and complement by a cocktail of my own: exercise, diet, meditation and living my dream.
Hi Kevin. Enjoyed your book - thanks for writing it. Would really like an update as to your adventures, heath, are you still working, update on family etc. since the end of the book.
thanks for ploughing through the book . Lots has happened since March 2021 , about 9 chapters worth of the next book ! I need 4/5 more , I can see the next one but not the final ones .
In short , raced after covid ended , got very sick in the Sahara, failed at another race for various reasons , had a double hernia , did a mega 30 day hike , PSA rose , stopped drinking , PSA fell, started running streak again, various charity/running/hiking events and that’s kind of today . Everyone older and still well .
Hope that whets your appetite for when I get round to book two (ha ha ).
Life is good here. Five years on ADT + abi and still on this side of the grass. Had some severe depression issues but almost through that. Please post when your book two is done.
