Qol Sweet Season

This is my QoL life in the north country at 79. Difficult work for about 25 days but get my resistant training and cardio work done by not going to the gym. That old 43 N Ford does its only job once a year and never failed me in the sugarbush. Nice time for friends and family to help out. I will resume gym work shortly. Happy that PSA has been slowly declining to .27 since Orchy and hope my upcoming scans don't show progression. Good luck to all.

Amazing how many different ways nature’s beauty manifests. Glad to hear that your Orchy is helping with your PSA, and inspiring that both you and the old Ford tractor are still rocking along

Looks like a great place to be.

That tractor looks like it has 2 axel's and then you can add a rubber tank tracks. That's pretty wild. I've never seen anything like that.

What I remember most about the Ford tractors of the 1960's was the clutch and brake pedals were directly under foot when sitting in a lower legs at 90 degree angle position. Other tractors the pedals were out ahead of the seat similar to a car.

The tracks were called ARPS half tracks made of all steel and made to fit most tractors. They were marketed in Wisconsin and popular for 2 wheel driven tractors. The second set of idler bogey wheel axles provided the adjustments to provide pressure to the front of the track. You need to have a good set of brakes to steer in deep snow. The traction is great and if using for logging you need to pull the load at the bottom of the drawbar to prevent flipplng the tractor.

Ah I couldn't tell from the picture if the tracks were entirely steel or rubber combo. Makes sense to haul at lowest drawbar height. A lot of different "tools" behind farm tractors:plows, discs, harrows, grain wagons, silage wagons.

Yes it did, as long as the outside temps were around 72 degrees. Very comfortable!
